Like many people, most of my favourite music is from years ago.

However, I regularly listen to new albums and have found a lot to like this century.
Here's a list of my favourite albums from this year - I listen to rock/Americana/folk/blue/country most of the time, so it might seem skewed.

1. Letter To You - Bruce Springsteen
2. World On The Ground - Sarah Jarosz
3. Holy Smoke & Future Jokes - Blitzen Trapper
4. Nothing as the Ideal - All Them Witches
5. Blacktop Run - Sonny Landreth
6. Lamentations - American Aquarium
7. Misfit's Jubilee - Jim White
8. Ever-Roving Eye - James Elkington
9. Wreckless Abandon - The Dirty Knobs
10. Ghosts of West Virginia - Steve Earle & The Dukes

A Special Mention to Tom Petty's "Wildflowers And Al The Rest" reissue, which includes some great new songs on the 2nd disk.

It's not a vote - I don't want to step on @BlueHammer85 's toes, I was just interested what people are listening to.
Most music chat on here seems to be about band and music from the past - just wondered if people listen to new stuff and if so, what.

Wild Flowers reissue is really good as are the Thin Lizzy Rock Legends box set and the UFO reissue of Strangers in the Night.

Not bought many new releases but really like these three:
Blue Oyster Cult - The Symbol Returns
Joe Satriani - Shapeshifting
Bruce Springsteen - Letter to You

I will get The Dirty Knobs and Steve Earle albums; & The Drive-by-Truckers that someone else mentioned. Hopefully, some will be among my Xmas pressies.

After what I thought was the worst year I can ever remember for albums in 2019, 2020 has been great!

Good albums from:
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever (“Sideways to New Italy”)
Doves (“The Universal Want”)
Little Barrie & Malcolm Catto (“Quartermass Seven”)
Holy Wave (“Interloper”)
Paul Molloy (“The Fifth Dandelion”)
Ian Skelly (“Drifters Skyline”)
Sault (“Untitled (Rise)”)
Khruangbin have released two albums (“Mordechai” and “Late Night Tales”)
Fontaines DC (“A Hero’s Death”)
Emmas (“My Fear and Me”)
The Confederate Dead (“Other Songs”)(one of our very own Bluemooners used to be in this band! @Ashleymcduff )
The Orielles (“Disco Volador”)

But my album of the year has been by an Aussie band called Bananagun, album name “The True Story of Bananagun”

Also some great tracks that have come out (where I either haven’t liked or not listened to their full album yet or they haven’t released one yet):
Daniel Avery “Lone Swordsman” (a track dedicated to Andrew Weatherall!)
Daniel Avery “Illusion of Time”
The Lounge Society “Generation Game”
Mantra Love “Ben Dover”
Katy J Pearson “Something Real”
Squaring Circles “Circumambulate”
Eluize “Opulance”
Fleet Foxes “Wading in Waist-High Water”
The Watchmakers “Awake” (Manchester band)
Bibio “Sleep On The Wind”
Moon Panda “Slow Drive”
Badly Drawn Boy “You and Me Against The World” and “Appletree Boulevard”
Public Practice “Compromised”
Lightening Orchestra “For Those Who Are Yet To Be Born”
The Dream Syndicate “The Longing”
The Strokes “Eternal Summer”
Jason Joshua “Language of Love”

Daniel Avery and Katy J Pearson just released new ones. Both good records. Had Bananagun album on a couple of days ago. Proper funky psychedelic madness

Whats the Steve Earl like ? I aint ever satisfied, The rain came down Steve Earl or the stripped back more recent roots stuff. Seen him and the Dukes three times.

Downloaded a few songs from The Lathums who are a young Wigan band, some great stuff off a couple of albums. Well worth a listen, lead guitarist has Johnny Marr as one of his influences and it's apparent when he's playing the Rickenbacker, really talented band. I just don't want to hear any of them are Rags or Dippers!!

Yeah I’ve seen him twice, many years ago (88 and 90).

It’s not bad - bit of a concept album about miners. Pretty rootsy and as usual, he’s got a few things to say. Similar sound to The Mountain I’d say.
