I think there is widespread public support for further lockdowns in January and February provided the vaccine is rolled out fast

We are pretty much in lockdown until 18 th January, so another 12 days is pretty much expected and being planned for by most people around me anyway.

Patients were aged between 30 and 103. All but 5 had previously known underlying conditions.

Scotland data - only cases and positivity rating today. Will be Tuesday before full data returns.

there will doubtless then be a big catch up on deaths as in England.

All we know today from yesterday's numbers is 740 cases from very few tests (6000 odd) giving a test positive ratio of 12.3%.

Last Sunday it was 934 cases at 5.1% positive.

By the way the South West overtook the North West and all the other regions outside the south apart from the West Midlands yesterday.

What has been the region with the lowest numbers and that Boris cited as reason not to have a national lockdown when they were so low yesterday posted a record 2083 cases. Versus 1618 for the North West.

Yesterday London, South East, South West and East posted 22, 790 cases. The Midlands in total 4532. And the three northern regions (NW. NE, Yorks & Humber) a total of 3759

I haven't seen a breakdown of cases by age, but only when (say) all over 70s have been vaccinated can any effect be seen on that group.

Cases will still happen in other groups, and there will need be to differentiation in weekly data from January onwards.

How is it looking in my region now? Just done a week in work and had to go up to the main hospital a few times through work. The nurses there said they are on their arse, covid breaking point

Testing by age range is published by the nations I often post the Northern Ireland split in my tables here to track the rise or fall of the over 60s. And Ayrshire has posted the Scottish data too many days.

Though it is not defined outside 20 year bands usually - ie 0 - 19, 20 - 39 etc

Should be quite obvious quickly, I’d expect almost all care home residents to be done by mid January, so the reduction in deaths in that environment should be detectable by the end of January
