There should be full transparency around a Premier League match being postponed, with mere hours until kick off. That Everton haven't seen the information is really poor from the Premier League.

they will know more than is reported. They are publicly stating their stance to be we think they should have been made to play,

frankly, a disgrace.

it’s obvious that two tested positive on Xmas day. Two days later another 3. If they exclude those 5 how do they know more won’t be positive in a few days?

Everton need no more information. It’s Newcastle who need more disclosure.

They said 'City players will be tested again on Tuesday'. Seems to me like tested for Sunday's game. Absolute bullshit if that is the case.

Surely our next three games have to be postponed. If not just null and void the whole thing. Other important things than football right now.

Nope, Corona Extra was £10 for 18 bottles last month in some places, the name probably has affected them(hence the on offer a lot comment).

Everton haven't stated that.

They're said public safety is uppermost and there should be full disclosure of the information - which is a legitimate request considering we were 4 hours away from a Premier League match with fans in attendance.

There isn't an issue with Man City here. The issue is with the Premier League.

Everton Football Club regret the postponement of tonight’s match against Manchester City - not only for the 2,000 fans who would have been attending, but for supporters on Merseyside and across the world.

Our players were prepared for the game, as were both the team staff and everyone at Goodison. Matchday is the most important date in our calendar. And this was a big one.

Whilst Everton will always have public safety uppermost, we will be requesting full disclosure of all the information that Manchester City provided to the Premier League so the Club can be clear on why this decision was taken.

It sounds like we were not consulted or involved in the discussions regarding the postponement, we were just informed when the decision was made which isnt great tbf. The conclusion of those discussions was the correct decision but the match involved 2 teams so both should have been part of the discussion.

If Everton think there’s something underhanded in all this, I reckon they’re badly mistaken. If anything, I’d say it’s in Everton’s best interests that the match is off. It’s shit for both teams and both sets of fans of course and we both had a great chance to close the gap at the top but for all we know City could’ve sent a team over with one or more asymptomatic carriers who have yet to test positive and that in turn could’ve infected many in the Everton squad. Then you’re staring down the barrel of having more than just this one game being called off.

Sorry. I honestly think everyone's attitude to this virus has been bang average. Taking unneccesary risks left right and centre. We have the resources and there should be no lack of leverage over the players. Have them live like fucking monks for a year and a half. They ought to be focused enough to manage quite easily it. Someone had to be managing the risk. Thinking clearly and assiduously how to avoid any fuck ups. I mean, risk management is already at the heart of the player contract. They're already forbidden to ride motorcycles and so on.

But nah. Life must go on, apparently. Everyone has the blinkers on and just pretends it'll all be ok. It's all pretty amateurish if you ask me. Embarrassing. Embarassing to be a Brit, a football fan, a westerner. Total abrogation of what we've learned in the last half a century. Like we're in a big brain fog and can't see the wood for the trees. You can manage almost anything like this. It just requires planning, attention to detail and professionalism. Mindfulness, awareness. A lot of small steps and measures.

Instead, what do we get? A continent stuck on autopilot, content on deceiving ourselves that this is the only way. Uncomfortable with change or any application of mindfulness. And now we're the bloody epitome of it.
