I expect a reply or two from people who are alright with this because they don't eat eels, Jack.

symbolic of the whole fuck up though isn't it? Brexiteer now having buyers remorse because he bought the lies and 10 employee's facing the new year out of work. Those you refer to will also say its ok its just one small business but these stories will start to repeat now.

Think either or more likely both works as an argument for independence. Don’t see how one negates the other really.
Independent waters are only possible as an independent sovereign nation. But an independent Scotland wants to be in the EU so you can’t be both.

She did blunder her naivety a while back by saying Scotland wanted to remain in the EU but continue to have free trade with England and in the next sentence saying how she didn’t think the UK could get a free trade deal with the EU...erm what? But alas wasn’t picked up on the contradiction by the interviewer.

Possibly don’t quite get your second point, but in the debate on the deal she can quite easily argue that first Scotland was taken out of the EU against it’s will. Then also argue that the benefits to Scottish fishermen promised by the government has been negotiated out of the deal. Both arguments play into an independence argument.

Will be interesting to see how Sturgeon plays this one. Side with the fisherman to hit Westminster with the “not looking after our interests” hammer and you devalue the Scotland wanted to remain argument for independence. She’ll probably bite her lip and stay silent

Yeah, sit on the sidelines and maybe let others in the Scottish media stoke the “Scotland can’t rely on Westminster to look after our interests” narrative while SNP keep quiet on the EU angle.

Absolutely right, but worth bearing in mind that the SNP will literally try to reframe anything as an argument for independence.

And fresh sausages, sausage meat and mince exports to the EU will stop - still not sure that frozen one's won't be banned either. Bet Heck sausages are really happy in retrospect that they allowed him to host a campaign day at their plant

Of course, though it’s an argument she’s gradually winning which means the numbers ready to accept the arguments are growing. It isn’t yet but could easily become a pushing against an open door argument.

Not sure he bought the lies rather than simply not giving a fuck because he didn’t think it would be his job or business that went under. He is a complete **** and the only sympathy should be for the people that work for him.

Some interesting analysis floating around, this from UK and EU has a fairly brutal summation.

British sovereignty run by Europe | UK in a changing Europe

‘It is one in which the UK might have sovereignty but actually less autonomy (arguably in some circumstances less than member states).

For it is a world in which the UK’s sovereignty will be policed on its own territory by a foreign administration in the form of the Commission with wide-ranging powers and few legal constraints and where its industry will have to accept the rules of the game set by Europe.’
I've read some straw clutching in my time and that just about ticks every box in that respect.
