Premier League Games 1/2/3/4 Jan 2021

The Brighton player with the now fashionable "hanging the leg out" trick to get the penalty. Entertaining game, even if it's only down to the ineptitude on show.

There it is again. There was contact and it was a penaty but Maupay’s first instinct, on feeling contact, is to go down.

Oh for the days of honest players like Sergio who would rather stay on their feet than dive around like Tom Daley.

As a matter of interest why does it now take two players to take a corner. Every team does it.

I don’t understand, do they really think the opposition dont know that the guy who takes the time to place the ball with precision is going to take the corner ?

I just tuned in for the second half. Who is the guy doing co-commentary ? Could he sound any less interested ?

Can't believe what I just heard. Player slips and the commentator says "it would have been a penalty at Old Trafford". He's got no future on Sky.
Thats the issue now. BBC earlier stated Leeds have conceded the most penalties in the PL this season, but they have been to Old Trafford.
Its like the corruption is clear to see but they all just make a joke out of it, like when Scholes avoided about 10 reds a season due to awful tackles and people just joked he cant tackle.

So the 5 year average 94 penalties awarded in a Premier League season. This year, last I looked they are predicting well over 200 by the end of the season.
It really is a case of when not if, a penalty is awarded in matches now isn’t it?

I'd hate to see us indulging in widespread amateur dramatics in order to get penalties. But I can see the argument that "everyone else is doing it" cropping up.

As others have said, I fear the game is ruined.

Well, you don’t hear of players getting booked for diving any more, so ...
(Well I can’t recall reading of any anyway)
