I know this is an exaggeration and a simplification but I can't help but feel that some of these indiscretions would not have occurred if Vinny was still in the dressing room.

His style of leadership would have made it absolutely clear what professional and public responsibilities mean in the time of a national crisis.

I was thinking this very same thing earlier on today.
Wonder if vinny was still around would he have mendy up the wall by his throat making sure he knew he was in the wrong.

Actually for all his faults on the field I have never thought Mendy was a lazy player. But his decision-making and spatial awareness as a defender is terrible. One of the worst I have ever seen at City and there is plenty of competition for poor fullbacks over the years. He used to be good going forward but his injuries have taken his pace away. We should be getting rid of him for his on-field performances never mind his pathetic off-field antics.

Careful, decision making ability probably has a racist connotation.

Well Zinchenko has the same problem with decison-making. I understand your point though. It was Ron Atkinson who infamously abused the "lazy" phrase and it (deservedly in my view) cost him his media career.
