Circuit breaker didn’t work in either Wales or NI. How do they explain that?

IF companies had staff working from home no problem in March and April there is no reason they shouldn’t be working from home now. If these companies played their part businesses that can’t work from home would have more chance of staying open
Yea your right . They last played on 28th and we went into tier4 on 30th .Nope. Banned
Yep deep distrust from the boss at our gaff. I had to do it for two weeks quarantine and found myself more productive due to not chatting shite to my manager all day. Some people seem to think those that don't come in are somehow 'shirking' work.
I make sure to thank those that are working from home as for some people it's tough and it helps everyone out.
How on earth would the nhs , schools be funded , it’s ok for these people say work at home , what if you can’t and your household can’t afford 20% cutThere's plenty that can be locked down still.
- Schools
- None essential manufacturing
- None essential warehousing
- The majority of the delivery network. Royal Mail, DHL, UPS etc if the above two are closed
- Construction
- Cafes providing takeaways. I saw a queue of about 20 people huddled together in a queue outside today in a small town.
- Golf courses
- Places of worship
- Motorsport facilities. I'm sure Red Bull, Mercedes etc and others are currently working flat out for the next season. Then you have the many other types of Motorsport companies that I'm sure will still be open.
- Car show rooms (Are they still open?)
That's the ones that have come to mind. Some more important than others. I'm sure there's more.

Well that's why these places are still open I guess. The pandemic has always been a balance of lives and money. How on earth would the nhs , schools be funded , it’s ok for these people say work at home , what if you can’t and your household can’t afford 20% cut
companies still have to pay your national insurance, holidays and pension while not making profit
Wasn’t long enough.Circuit breaker didn’t work in either Wales or NI. How do they explain that?
Not a circuit break then, it’s surely a lock down?Wasn’t long enough.
I can see the massive difference between NI, England and Wales, not.

I don’t support a circuit breaker, we need a full lockdown for 8 weeks to start off with. Not a circuit break then, it’s surely a lock down?
Private and commercial flights. There's plenty that can be locked down still.

Not exactly disproving my point is it?
But if schools shut , how can people work who can’t work from home ? Goto grandparents houseWell that's why these places are still open I guess. The pandemic has always been a balance of lives and money.
Some of those on the list could definitely be shut if they really wanted to get the numbers down though.
Our place have completely embraced it. Before lockdown we had to do 37hrs but only had to be in the office between 10am and 3pm with earliest start 7am, latest finish 6:30pm. So basically you just managed your hours around those rules. Some people seem to think those that don't come in are somehow 'shirking' work.

Tbh I’m not bothered what they came up as nothing seems to work apart from locking people in and locking arrivals out.I don’t support a circuit breaker, we need a full lockdown for 8 weeks to start off with.
