He was the reason I followed City. I still remember him at his very best. He leaves a huge legacy for us fans to remember and rejoice. RIP Colin, legend, Nijinsky.
I was brought up in Cadishead (along the A57 the other side of Eccles) but my Aunty Olive lived just off Claremont Road. She lived just around the corner from a pub which I think was called The Sherwood. Aunty Olive had 5 kids in a house which was literally a 2 up 2 down with the toilet in the garden ( this was around 1967). My Mum could never understand why I was always so keen to spend part of my school holidays there, but I used to spend hour after hour sat outside Maine Road collecting autographs. I saw Colin play many times but one of my abiding memories was getting his autograph outside Maine Road. Sad news.
