He had been through a hard time as it happens. In a short space of time his first wife and his best friend, Jack Rosenthal, both died of cancer which hit him very hard.

But some gobshite City fan had a response published. Bit cringeworthy really: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1206137/You-wrong-Colin--love-City.html
Well I suppose he deserves a pass for that article then. He's entitled to his views but he was obviously very raw and emotional when he wrote that and I'm not surprised he angered more than a few people with it. Even though some of the things he said(as some people have already pointed out) are true of topflight football across Europe in general. That's the game, not City, he's fell out of love with and most people will understand his reasons for that. At the end of the day, things were that way long before 2008 and before 2003(Abramovich) and some of what he said was completely unnecessary.

I suppose there's lessons to be learned in it though, attack the article not the man(unless they get personal), there are more important things than football after all.

Edit: Just got to the part you were talking about... Yep, sounds like that Swiss Tony from the Fast Show.

Every f*cking live game from Klanfield (and MOTD highlights), they always crank up the effects mic's at the Kop end when their shitty Scouse sing-along is piped over the PA at ear-splitting levels. BT, Sky, BBC; all the f*cking same.

C*NT'S!
SKy Sports Director - 'Come on guys the jingle is about to start, soundman crank it up to 13............

Can anyone remember the number of continual Manchester United FA Cup games that were televised? It went on for years. In the end it was a running joke. It only ended when United drew a really s*** team at home, and for whatever reason, the TV companies finally decided not to show it.
Did it get up to about 85?

Can't remember it reaching treble figures but you never know...........

The hatred (And difference between the beeb and Sky was never as obivous now.

Sky's web page isn't. There's something right at the bottom of the page after half a dozen articles of Ushited

The daily fucking fail manage to get a dig in about Colin being the player remembered for coming on for Bobby Charlton in the 1970 World Cup LOSS to Germany

Apologies o' great one - I will be sure to check in with you before trying to provide an answer going forward........
who really cares how many fa cup ties man utd were shown live. Media companies have to make money so they pick the game they think will bring in most viewers. Manchester United v anybody usually pulls in most viewers. Not rocket science or conspiracy or media bias just fact.
