Hattenstone, one of the Guardian’s pair of pet self-loathing City fans, couldn’t even resist in his tribute to Colin

Diego Maradona was, in life, a massive cock. We all know about the hand of God, and the coke, and everything else, but on his death he was rightly eulogised for the footballing genius he was.

Even if not on Maradona’s level, Colin Bell was a football genius. Opinions vary but many still rate him as the best ever player to wear a blue shirt, and when you think about Yaya and Merlin and Sergio and some others, that’s saying something. But does he get the same unreserved eulogy? No. Somebody somewhere, some vile excuse for a human being, decides that his death is the occasion to get in a snide dig at the club he played for.

I think we all know the reason why.

Another insensitive headline
Insensitive? It's fucking awful on a par with the meaningless shite on the internet such as 'how much is Beyonce worth'.
In fact as a headline it suggests there is something nasty being kept secret.
Mirror group again

Forgive me if someone has already highlighted this but there’s an online article on express.co.uk now by Andy Wilson who’s Headline I cannot repeat as it’s making me furious as it so disrespectful to Colin’s Family and his memory.
An apology MUST be demanded by the Club at the very least.
RIP The King!
Shockingly blunt, devoid of all compassion

If you can wade through "neutral" Jamie Paradise's timelines of different Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer related quotes, you will eventually find a short obituary to Colin. This claims that his career was affected by a "tackle on Manchester United's Martin Buchan." Even at a time like this, he can't help but try to re-write history.

When you read the tributes not just from our fans but from fans of other clubs in the Colin Bell thread on here (some who joined just to tell us how much they thought of him) it puts these so called professional, neutral, people to shame!

I can’t call them journalists because that would be to insult some good journalists that I know and respect!

Stay safe, take care everyone.

I would rather wade knee deep through pig shit than his timeline.

Think we need to get over the “massive” thing, it’s not a dig every time someone uses the word in an article against us.

The Rags don’t even use it for a wind up anymore.
Not sure I agree, it’s not a word I ever say or hear in my everyday life unless I read something written about city. A good thesaurus would be an option for the writer of said article

A couple of these articles really have overstepped the mark. We are used to the negativtiy, digs and outright lies that are levelled at city on a daily basis; however, coming out with some of this stuff on the day Colin Bell dies is on another level.

I would like to think that someone at the club monitors the likes of Bluemoon to gauge some sort of understanding around the fans' opinions, if so, i can't for the life of me work out why there is such an impotent response. If city don't make a stand against this latest episode from the Mail, then what will they make a stand against?

who gives a fuck what it got up to.
I do because the exact figure shows precisely how bad the situation is with funding from me and others not only to show crap matches which most football fans are not interested in, but often at prime time on a Friday when ordinary viewers want to watch something decent.

I’m only here because of 1965 if the “club” can’t defend itself or more to the point refuses to, then I feel personally betrayed. Having withstood Swales years, and the Lee debacle, I’m not too sure I really want to keep nailing my colours to the Mast anymore, this COVID shit was driving me to reassess things, Plus the media, UEFA, FA.
However last night may have just tipped the balance

All it said was a played a massive 492 games for us.

There’s absolutely no way of knowing that was a dig or not.
Didn’t read the article, refuse to, but given the relationship between the press and the club, particularly the fans, you can see why fans get offended.
