Charlottesville was a turning point for me. That week ruined me. Had to re-evaluate everything to get back to where I am today. As bad as 9/11 leading into the war on terror.

Then the Arena. Kids left to die for half an hour.

Finally. May dodging Grenfell. Blew my mind, tho I had stopped watching. I didn't look for months, maybe a year, at anything.

I came back from it all this weekend. Knew there was no more doubt about what we could expect this month. It was true.

It was true mat. Everything they told me when I was younger. People will never change. They will go along. Even in the dissent, we do what's comfortable and safe. Hysterical all the time, doing nothing of note.

I keep reminding myself, I was right, they were right. My generation, were the luckiest fuckers ever. Historically. We really were. Tory malfeasance and austerity were wicked lies, but it was such small beer. I would live off South Africa, Northern Island, Gay Marriage, forever.

Then Charlottesville. And the Arena.

Now we see why. This lot won't even lift a finger to save 10000 people from COVID. Trump wants them to embrace death. Our lot is no better. Just leave it til the announcement's ready, eh? Doctors and Nurses gagged from the start. Lockdown on images and comment from the people at the front end. Wouldn't want them to get scared and protect themselves. They might decide they needed someone more competent in charge.

Bradford was the worse thing I ever saw. We lose that in an afternoon. We lost more civilians last year than in the whole of WW2. And the people can't focus on what they need to. No worries. It's a long term thing. Love them anyway. Some of the biggest Tory loons are priceless, I couldn't live without people like that. But we have to get rid of the fat man. He's keeping them all in a dance that never stops. Then we can work it out.

They shouldn't have let us worry about this thing we can't see, but know. The public is only safe if it sees the reality. My mum was forever changed by the footage from Bergen Belsen. Now the government are hiding the footage, and messing around with every number. 1000 dead? They're all focused on 20million vaccines from yesterday.

Not even a Tory thing. Major, Thatcher, would have been straight. Cameron would have been respectful. The fat one is different. He can't care. It's a joke. Smirking. Bad puns. Messy hair.

He's gone too far. The lads and lasses got serious last weekend. Big words, old ideas. Took it personally, because no one else will help, no one will stop it happening, sooo... it's on us. Sleeves were rolled up. Fathers and mothers, teachers thanked for their love and wisdom in preparing us for the coming years. Doctors, lovers, and their wonderful parents.

His game only goes on so long. Can't help but put himself up there again and again. People get sick of it.

When it's done, we'll try again. They mustn't be allowed to traumatise people. Get the bastard's claws out of them, and most will be ok.

Got to watch it tho, this all came from a mistake on the left. We've got to follow the rules. No trauma. You can't blame people for trauma. We all made mistakes. Can't ever say we are better than that. The only ones who ever get a pass are the children. You can't put any of it on them.

We can't say it is true if we only wish it was. We musn't fuck with their truth. If it's based in fact, it has to be respected. Otherwise it makes these crazy reactions and lurches away from democracy ok in people's heads. Old truces break down behind the eyes, and soon violence is justified, and no-one can spot the sort of facts we should be able to recognise and deal with.

So I don't know too much about this stuff.

Has Trump gone rogue? Or are there still important Republicans helping him out here?
 
Donald trump jnr on a stage earlier in the day threatening republicans saying we will come for you if you vote the wrong way. Inciting and orchestrating what was about to happen. His father will be pretty pleased with what happened as he loves people fawning over him.

Now I think he law needs to act against these people who whipped this up

i am genuinely interested in some of the background on this. I mean, beyond the MAGA mob action and beyond "cos they're all stupid" jibes - what is really going on? how are people so utterly convinced? are most pretending?
 
America is so divided at the moment.

Both sides should be ashamed.
Both fanning the flames.
Both have blood on their hands.

Dem or Rep what does it matter nothing will change.

American politicians created Trump with the previous failed administrations. The media are driving the agenda.

I haven’t seen anyone defending Trump since last year.
 
After Brexit I thought we were heading largely in the same direction as American politics. I still do to an extent, but i think people are too apathetic over here to get to the same levels..and we don't have the gun nuts either. Scary stuff to see the fabric of society deteriorate like it appears to have done in America.

This man was as big a danger to the world as Hitler was and I have no doubts that if there had been a conflict whilst he was in power he could easily have been responsible for more deaths.
 
So... Has Trump's latest actions ruined his chances of a second term in 4 years time or has this actually made him even more desirable amongst non Democrat voters?

In the crazy world of US politics I'm not sure.
