United (A) - League Cup SF | Post-Match Thread

Can somebody explain why Cancelo gets booked for squaring up to Fatty Shaw and yet Fatty Bollocks gets nothing for that offence? Also the blatant dive by Martial should have been a yellow.
Agree totally penalty or yellow for diving and looking at it was Defo not a penalty cheating **** just took off. As for Fatty surely retrospective action should be taken for a blatant elbow. Ruben Dias makes VVD look like Mendy

Shaw should’ve seen red for that shithouse challenge, he came steaming in with his elbow raised, VAR should’ve picked that up and sent him on his way.
Martial was a yellow for definite, I’m sure if he was in blue he’d ve’ got one, and I thought they were trying to stop diving or is that just for everybody else.

Where was the next Messi Bruno Fernandez? I thought he was supposed to be some sort of footballing genius? He hardly got a kick. Really enjoyed watching Pogba get owned by Stones, just shrugged him off like he wasn’t there. United are picking up results but the gulf between the sides is enormous. The only player I’d take is Rashford, such a shame he plays for them twats.

Ian Ladyman in his match report reckons Man U need a centre back, holding midfielder and two new full backs. Between them, Fred, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw and Wan Bissaka cost best part of 250 million quid ... that's some recruitment system they've perfected, pretty sure Liverpool won't bother hacking into that!
There's a lot more than what you've named

Feel like most fans are really jaded at the moment and have been watching games merely for something to do whilst at the same resenting the absurdity of how meaningless it all feels.

Was really nice seeing how the players reacted on the final whistle though. It brought a bit of pride and meaning back into the games.

Brilliant that we put them lot back in their box. Was quite emotional seeing Buzzer shed a tear before kick off. I'm sure he was wearing a big grin under his mask at the end.
I will never forget the time he was on sky predicting that we would be giving the rags a good drubbing at their place before long and we have done it a good few times since then. Felt special last night, in honour of King Colin.

The other good part of last nights win is Utd will be for the Liverpool game much more now.

Liverpool will be our main title challenger still not Utd.

I would like a draw but will take a Liverpool loss

The scary thing is we wanted to sign three others ahead of him. A bit like with Jorginho and Sanchez, I’m glad the deals for koulibaly, kounde or giminez didn’t happen.
We have been following ruby for a couple of years suddenly he became available so we jumped in , he was never third choice

There was a foul early on in the first half by Fern on Bruno, it was just a normal shithouse Fern tackle to break up the play but it rattled Bruno. Not the tackle in itself, because as much as he is a diving ****, he also wants to win and probably legitimately gets fouled a bit as well. But it was the moment that Bruno started complaining to the ref and Fern just stood there staring at him, basically saying this shit is gonna happen to you all night mate. That's what we miss with Rodri, he doesn't have that snap and bite that's needed in these types of games.

Another key moment for me was Dias constantly talking, constantly giving and receiving encouragement when doing a block or good tackle. This is exactly what we have been missing, all the way back from when Vinny started getting his injuries. It's easy to play something like that down, but if you have played team sports, you know how important it is and it can somehow just take you up levels in performance. In fact, Pep mentioned it in the post match interviews. It's HUGE.

I was disappointed again with Mahrez, fair's fair and this isn't his position, but Pep asks a lot of his players and it's up to you to deliver. He asked it of Torres this season, the kid has delivered. He asked it of Kevin against Chelsea, he delivered. Sterling struggled in that position and he had some time on the bench, but you know you get workrate from Sterling. If you aren't going to perform, you need to work, work, work, and Mahrez just doesn't get it.
The rags had a corner near the end of the game, and Rúben was clapping and talking.

I said to Mrs Vienna, the lad is a born leader.

The grief he got for that. He was openly mocked in the studio by the snides in there with him. Its a shame they never had him back in to give them what they deserved, just as the players did in the 6-1.

Loved that bit. 30 seconds left and he doesn't want to concede like we did at Chelsea. I can't remember a player having this sort of an impact from their first game. Maybe Aguero? Outside of that not in my lifetime.
