How does society get past all this? The Trump fuelled mess that is America, the clear divisions in this country re Brexit. Will it even get better any time soon? It feels like decency in politics has disappeared off the face of the earth. It's incredibly tribal now. Civil unrest everywhere, and it's only getting worse. Can't help but think the advent of social media has made populism explode to unhealthy levels. Am I being incredibly pessimistic to not really picture a way out of this?
I have faith the majority will finally snap and send all the little children to bed. Covid/Brexit/Trump will change how we live with each other for the better eventually.

An irrefutable example of the old adage "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."
What the fuck do people expect if they raid a building of such significant political and historical importance?

I remember being in the USSC as a tourist in about 2006, watching the court in session, and thinking to myself that if I kicked off now I’d definitely be putting my life in danger (a bit like that feeling when you’re at a great height and you think about jumping!).

People have to be responsible for the risks they willingly take and the consequences of their own actions.

That person ultimately only has one person to blame for their death (so to speak) and that’s themselves.

This was the warm up act. There's nothing that shouts patriot more to your fellow patriots than taking the mick out of 350,000 dead Americans.

I was going to say Darwinism in action, but most of them look like they're old enough to have spawned already.

Clearly misinformed about COVID, and that is on Trump and the media outlets who peddle his bullshit.

Very much so but there’s no excuse if you’re over the age of 14 to not realise hugging people in a pandemic is fucking stupid.

Trump supporter and US Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt died after being shot by a plain-clothed police officer as protesters attempted to enter the House Chamber where lawmakers were working to confirm the Electoral College votes

What a waste of a veteran , has to be asked why a single forces support him after what he says about them
There's nothing either more or less worthy about the life of a veteran compared to the lives of anyone else.

This woman will have had a selection of the same human strengths and weaknesses as everyone else and the fact that she worked in a certain profession for a period of her life makes her passing no more or less tragic than that of anyone else in the same circumstances.

The only relevant comparison of stature that you can make on the limited information you have about her is that, purely by doing what she was doing, she was obviously more gullible, hate filled and dangerous than the average person (and the average veteran). None of which is deserving of what happened.

Iran and russia have commented taking the piss
They are doing Biden a favour just doing that.

Iran have a golden window to do something naughty with the Mango Mussolini issue but are choosing not too. I doubt the US would afford them the same courtesy if their leader was being a **** disabling their own country.

Can anyone else recall a more interesting lame duck presidency period of American history?

I saw a women just now say they should have dragged the senators out of the building , i really think they would have , karmella was in there amongst others, it could have been much worse in hindsight
