Half a dozen in a van at that Derbyshire reservoir deliberately positioned and waiting for the easy targets like walkers. So that's six not on the streets.
Derbyshire Police Commissioner doesn't seem happy about that but the DCC of Cornwall supports the principle. The same force featured on tv where they constantly complained of lack of manpower to respond to 999 calls.
.
Strikes me there's no bugger driving /robbing etc so need to get their figures up, easier to hide in bushes for some easy hits rather than walk around the shops, close house parties down etc I suppose.

Think this is clickbait from the DM.

Once I got beyond hysterical headlines all I could gather was that Supermarkets needed to try harder to facilitate social distancing which could lead to store limits and outside queues again. Wancock and Whitehall refused to rule out further restrictions but advised people to follow current. Further restrictions speculated were closure of nurseries. Info seemed very vague on exercising outside, govt just recognized people were being too creative with their "daily exercise". Suggestion they could remove outdoor exercise with people from other households.

Yes it's been known for some years now that a viral infection can weaken the heart muscle. It seems insane he didn't follow his doctors advise but lots of people think "I'm as fit as a fiddle I'm cracking on!"
Very true, Steve Ovett had lung/respiratory problems and against Doctors advice continued to train and race, he was probably coming to the end of his career but his performances dropped by some distance, sad end to a great career.

Or even in the proximity of non league football grounds.
Walkers are easy soft targets and waiting in a reservoir car park is the slow motion version of siting a speed trap on a nice dual carriageway.

They didn’t live in the same house mate so it was probably more convenient for them to go in 2 cars, I guess. Especially, since one of them would have headed off to buy the coffees I assume?

The coopers might have been over zealous and made a mistake. What I don’t understand is why during a pandemic two people would go on national TV to try to get public servants trying to enforce the rules into trouble. Maybe it’s the reality TV culture of modern society. I just don’t know.
Attention seeking bastards, that’s why.

As soon as these two went on tele with this, I was immediately on the side of the Police even if I was initially thinking it was a bit daft of the Police, a bit much.

You can just imagine people like them being a total fucking nightmare for the Police to deal with. It’s already a bit suspect that there was supposed to be two of them, but who took the picture of them socially distancing on their walk?

They can fuck off and take their attention seeking with them but it’s more likely the pair of them will be on Love Island or Gogglebox within the next 18 months off the back of this.

Interesting, no significant excess mortality in England in Week 52 - it should be noted that week 52 was 21 to 27 Dec, before the shit hit the fan.

Is that not actually a tad concerning though? Given the big massive spike in the Spring months, which I think we can sadly safely say probably ended many people's lives months, if not years, earlier than expected - shouldn't we now be below averages?

Just think, if Number 10 had put London and the South East into Tier 3 like they did the North then none of this would be happening. If they had closed our borders or required a negative test to come here back in March when other countries did they would have saved thousands of lives. They created this mess because their policies were designed to keep their mates happy.
If they stop the support bubbles they have gone to far. Sack the fucking lot.

Probably because they just got fined £200 each when they didn't break the rules. I know if I got fined £200 while obeying the rules I'd be pissed off to the extreme.

You can go to a shop and buy a coffee as a take away. you can meet 1 friend for a walk as long as you stay 2m apart. no rules were broken. only question would be come with with asking what "local" is classed as, is a 5/10 min drive to a park classed as local?

Whitty on whether you can be reinfected with COVID

We are bringing you all the key lines from Professor Chris Whitty as he conducts various media Q&As.

Asked by a 5 Live listener about the chances of being reinfected after getting COVID previously, the CMO explained: "The risk of getting COVID a second time if you've had it a first time are substantially reduced, probably between 80% and 90% at least over the first six months.

"We are confident it reduces the risk but it doesn't reduce it to zero, so reinfection is a possibility and the same will be true after vaccination.

"Reinfections will occur but at a much lower rate

Can't help but feel they need to get to vaccinating the over 60s as soon as possible seeing the statistics and how many are being admitted into hospitals. Maybe they're the ones for the 24 hours vaccination centre option. In many ways, you could argue they're just as vulnerable as the highest risk category given that at that age they're likely to have underlying conditions, while still very active in society and many working too.

I found it amazing that the police who regularly moan about having too much to do had the time and resources to stop people for something as ridiculous as that.
They were nowhere to be seem when my house was broken into or nowhere to be seen when my car was damaged.
Sadly we are living in a police state akin to North Korea at the moment.

You don’t know if they were obeying the rules or not. You have accepted their story hook, line and sinker.

My own view is that it does seem the police were heavy handed but appearing on national TV days after the incident and repeating their steps on a number of occasions to appear in the national press gives the impression of glory seeking.

I was going to agree with you there, then I read the last sentence.

Give your head a wobble.
