I'm currently running 4.5miles a day and been resting every 5th/6th day.

I usually run 3/4 times a week. Typically one or two 5ks and 8-10k and then a longer run, at weekend, ranging from anywhere between 12-20K. Typically this works out at around 130-150K a month.

Feels about right for me as anymore I do notice a bit of tiredness in the legs.

will that one give me all the running stuff the forerunner does (heart rate zones, how effective my run was, if rest is required etc?
It probably would mate, but beware with the fenix 6, they released about 25 different versions of it, mines a 6pro but that link you posted is a 6s which dosent do music or wifi connections, for that price you would be better off with a fenix 5.
Also JD sports sell a load of shite, best to try john lewis, wiggle, cotswold outdoors etc.
I definitely vote for john lewis, I had my five for almost two years, it stopped charging so I took it back and they gave me all my money back, hence me now havin a 6pro!!

I got a Fenix 6S recently and it is great. It does Spotify, Bluetooth connection to speakers, WiFi downloads, plus contactless payments (from Santander accounts). It's brilliant.

The S just means small, but as far as I'm aware, it is the same as the other versions. I agree about the Sapphire face. They are very scratch resistant. A great fitness watch if you can afford one.

I’d be telling him to fuck right off!! Though to be honest I’ve avoided running along the canal since it all began as you can’t really keep your distance from people.
I've stopped running round local park as too busy so run round roads now

Ron Hill`s longest running streak of at least a mile a day was just over 52 years. So on that basis you should aim for one rest day every 52 years. But Ron Hill was an Olympic athlete and he's not on here.

For me when marathon training it was 2 days off a week. When training for general health and fitness it was 3 days off a week. Now I am injured it Is 7 days off per week :(

So to answer your question, it's between 7 days off a week and 1 day every 52 years, depending on being injured or Olympic standard athlete.

Was due to run out a half marathon this week until Covid struck.
Running seems like a long lost cousin now....

Anyone had pretty bad Covid and resumed running (eventually)?
For the record I can barely make the walk to the bedroom atm....

I’ve not had it mate, or had no symptoms at all, but I’ve certainly started struggling for pace lately... hoping it’s just the cold weather!!
Hope you recover soon mate.

I can relate to the long lost cousin feeling with my hip injury. It's mild but I'm resisting the urge to run because I know it could flair up again. Be sure you fully recover before running again.

Take solace in that you were fit and well trained before getting ill and so your fitness should return fairly easily. It's not like being back to square one and starting from scratch like an untrained or unfit person.

Funnily enough I’ve had shortness of breath over the past month (occasionally) when I went for a run...really odd. Way before I contracted COVID19.

What was your hip injury btw?
I have a labral tear (had mri scan) but declined surgery/talked out of it in the end.
Yoga/Pilates & strength training eventually helped, but in saying that I’ve not been to the gym since the the first lockdown and took running back up (with no return of the pain).

Indeed, I did think being pretty fit would subdue many COVID19 symptoms...clearly haven’t given I’m absolutely hammered by it.

My hip injury suddenly appeared at the beginning of December just after setting off on a regular early morning 4 miler. The routine for the last six months was a a regular run before breakfast and "working from home". I thought it was just a strain from not warming up.and was initially just slight discomfort. But it got worse and was a bit painful at the end of the run. Each run after that it got worse and then pain lasted for a few days. I went out last saturday for a run in snow and not too bad but then pain again the next day and not run since. Just a bit of pain now though. It could be bursitis...I don't know really. Just resting, exercises and slowly trying to rebuild
