United thread 2020/21

The odd lot seem to be really hammering the ‘united DNA’ line in their media statements just lately. McTominay, Fletcher, even Gary fucking Neville have all been handed this trite platitude.
It is meaningless marketing mumbo jumbo along the lines of ‘This means more’ but is predictably lapped up by a subservient media.
I imagine Neil Ashton has instructed them to push it as a ‘key message’ in their interviews

That's because these guys and there aren't many, are true honest proffesionals ( Frank Lampard as a player springs to mind, Vincent Kompany, Stephen Gerrard etc ).....No wags to parade on celebrity shite, no scandal, no sucking up to media luvvies, no headline news, no attention grabbing. They just get on with it quietly and proffesionally and let their skills do the talking. Hopefully the impressive youngsters in the game will learn from them.

Time for you lot to do some homework.
Question: How many times has Fernandez won player of the month since he joined the Raggies and second part how many times has DeBruyne won it since joining the world's greatest club?
If you are minded you could also list David Silvas awards.
I dont know about Raggy but I bet Kev and David's total added together is nil.
Says it all about the state of our game.
Dave won it once, Kev has never won it. LMFAO

Once in a brilliant trophy laden spell! and Kev, jeez. The people who make the award should hang their heads in shame. 4 times this joke of a media manafactured footballer has won it in 10 months, says it all about the state of our game today.

FFS....they don't even hide the bias! The greatest midfielder to play in the PL wins it once and KDB might well eclipse him for that title if he keeps it up for a couple of more years is yet to win it.....yet over at the Theatre of Nightmares and Klanfield they're stacking them up!

The Premier League asked the rags not to wear that away kit on Sunday as it clashed with the Liverpool kit for supporters who suffer from colour blindness. They refused but as a compromise they changed the colour of their socks

Yes, I think this is the concern. I remember saying to one of my sons back in late 2011 that City were 10 points better than the rags, but they'd have to be to win the title. We'd seen that a ref couldn't influence the result of a match in which one side was clearly better than the other (say by six goals to one) but many PL matches are very close affairs and can be decided by refereeing decisions, and United have been able to exercise undue influence for many years, especially while Ferguson was there. It has continued to the present and we have seen this influence clearly at work this season. I suspect City will need to be more than ten points better this season but I think we are and I suspect that the "favours" done to United have become so obvious that we will see them reduced in number.
Used to say a class keeper was worth 10pts a season, seems to have switched to favourable officiating being worth that now.

Aguero couldn't manage to get into team of the year even after winning the golden boot
And you just know he would have had that accolade on display in his basement with all his hat trick balls next to a two-story tall stack of signed shirts from matches he's scored in. I always mind when most of our players get screwed over but Aguero is such a sentimental and charming guy...

I think Yaya is the best midfielder to ever play in the Premier League. I would have a bet that Yaya, Silva and KDB have not won player of the month 4 times between them. That shows how much of a joke it is. All 3 of them are/were head and shoulders above the drowned rat.
I will also have another bet, all 3 of the players mentioned will end up with far more Premier League titles than Splinter.

The reason John Lennon airport is called that is because it was the first place he fucked off to with his big royalty cheque.
In the main part of the airport, the line “above us only sky” is painted on the wall in huge letters.

Above the baggage handling department, they have “imagine no possessions”.

That’s absolutely ludicrous. Incredibly, Peter Odemwingie has won it three times apparently!
To expand further, since there has been a prem player of month, a City player has won it on 14 out of 155 awards.

These are the ones that really surprised me

Yaya = 0 player of month awards
Vinny = 0 player of month awards
Joe Hart = 0 player of month awards
KDB = 0 player of month awards
Bernardo Silva = 0 player of month awards

City players to have won the award
Micah = 1 in 2007
Dave = 1 way back in 2011
Edin = 1 in 2011
Tevez = 1 in 2009
Leroy Sana = 1 in 2017
Raheem = 2, 2016 & 2018
Serge = 7 which is a record

Thierry Henry only won it 4 times in the whole of his Arsenal career, same as Fernandes in 12 months

No real point to my post other than to laugh at whoever casts the votes
