Get someone on loan quickly Txiki. and a big name striker in the summer.

Pep even said he is not sure when Kun will be back, that means he is not missing due to self isolation due to some contact with a positive person but another injury setback which would be like 10th in a row since November.

Jesus is not the striker who will lead the line and score goals like Lewandowski, Ibra, Kane etc. If you would put Jesus in those teams where these strikers play and would offer his current goal rate they would take him behind the barn and shoot him.

We would improve immensely imo if we had a striker banging in goals, giving confidence to the rest of the team to attack more knowing they have somebody who will deliver every game.
Georgi Samaras could have got a hat trick tonight. We missed out on trophies because we chanced it with our defence. Now we have a solid defence ,we could clean up this year but not with a stuttering attack . I agree get someone on loan

I dont think this will sink in, but Gabriel Jesus is not going anywhere, any time soon. We will buy another striker, but we ain't selling him.

Not sure why you think that you can write enough angry comments on the Internet to speak something into existence.
No idea how anybody can criticise him today, he came on and we immediately looked twice the threat we did beforehand, he migjt not have been involved directly in a goal (I know he won the penalty) but his presence created room for others, the pull back to the oncoming midfielders was available the instance he came on. Don't look at stats, watch the game, it's really no coincidence how the openings became more clear once he was introduced.
Nothing to do with villa being run ragged for 70 mins ? You would hope that bringing on Brazil’s number 9 he would give you options !!!!

Strange how people see things differently. All I saw was totally ineffectual. Would have Torres up front all day over Jesus.
People WANT to think what they want. He came on, did nothing except mess up a few attacks, give up possession and shot a pea roller from outside the box. People go on about peo asking him to play a certain way but I can’t see pep asking him to come on and do what he’s doing. His defenders will feel daft when he’s moved on to some sub par Italian team (or Everton) in 2 years.

great cameo against Villa his presence it the six yard box caused Villa problems and won the penalty , at his best he is a handful for defenders , still doesnt look 100% fit but who knows what effect COVID has on a player , we all know he will give 100% to the cause.

The chances we created after he came on weren't attributed to villa tiredness so no. their defenders had to be wary of his dangerous movement which dropped them back towards their own goal and created gaps around the edge of the box that were previously closed off because their centre backs didn't have to be that deep.

He wasn't amazing tonight but he played a small cameo role off the bench and is recovering from covid, yet he made an impact that's what you want from your subs.

He doesn’t look sharp right now but he needs to play himself back into form. It’s not that long ago he was MOTM home and away against Real Madrid, he deserves some patience

We do need to bring in another forward in the summer though. Finding one with Jesus’s pressing ability and Agüero’s finishing will be very difficult. Unless we can sign Son Heung-min...

Yeah that was a really clever pass, glad I'm not the only one who noticed it.
How about the mob that went nuts but didn't notice that Foden's pass was slightly behind Jesus and into his feet and he had to put the brakes on to try and control it, notice how he had to stop both feet together, if he had continued on and taken a swipe at it, he would have been late and it would have gone out by the corner flag.

his header which won the pen was awful not even goal bound.
That was really funny actually when I watched the highlights..

He was trying to assist Foden in that moment, instead of scoring the fucking goal and hitting the net :D

It's obvious Jesus will hit form and help us perform even better, just as it was obvious that Bernardo would regain form.

The injury in the first game of the season and then covid have made it difficult for him. He left us in the hunt for the title with a magical and hugely important goal against Liverpool, was outstanding against Real, and will be outstanding again.

He didn't look happy after the pen had been scored. Either he was respecting Covid rules to the letter or was just pissed off. It looked like he went to celebrate but didn't join in. I reckon he had the pen taken off him.

I like Jesus and he always plays well imo, his passing and link up play are exceptional, but for a striker he lacks confidence when a goal scoring chance presents itself!

Agüero is a predator in front of goal whereas Jesus (like Sterling) hesitates, we should keep Jesus but obviously need a replacement for Agüero (which is virtually impossible)

Foden maybe could replace him, he can play anywhere and is our top scorer!

Unfortunately, I think this same debate will continue for the duration of Jesus' time at City. There's obviously talent there and, when we signed him, there was so much potential that we believed we'd discovered a world-class, red hot striker. Four years on and he looks tepid at best.

It's clear that the issue is confidence but, a talented striker with zero confidence is as good as a really confident striker with zero talent. It's ok saying he works hard, he makes good runs but his job is scoring goals, but he looks terrified of shooting. It's worrying when we don't have a recognised penalty taker and the only striker on the pitch isn't wanting to take a free shot on goal from 12 yards out. He's shirking his responsibility and time is running out for him imo.

Again?

why is this still being discussed?

Some people really can’t fathom he isn’t Aguero
Why is this still being discussed? Has Jesus suddenly discovered how to score and put an end to this discussion? It's still being discussed because he hasn't improved any mate. The discussion is still there to be had. In fact, I'm new to the discussion because I like Jesus and I really wanted him to become the player we thought we'd signed. After four years of waiting, I've accepted, with his confidence issue, we've got a striker that can't score. No, he is no Aguero (that goes without saying) but he's scored 2 PL goals this season. Two! Michael Keane's scored more than him.

This season, he's missed many games through injuries, covid and generally not being fully fit. Last season he scored 23 goals (20 in the PL+CL, his ratio of goal involvements per game was excellent), the previous season 21, the season before that 17...Helped us win 100 pts and the domestic treble, feats never achieved in England.

One needs to take stats in context. Bernardo was also written off from many on here due to their inability to see the wider picture and their being sucked into shallowly interpreted stats.

Yeah, fair point mate. He did score that goal against Southampton, so we should give him another four years to see if he can get some confidence.

Stats aside, what is Jesus' job? What is he at City to do? Tell me, what is 'the wider picture' mate? His job is scoring goals but he's frightened to death of taking a shot.
