Probably widened the gap between himself and Stones
I don't think it will be long before la porte and dias become our back two, stones has come on leaps and bounds because of dias but laporte is a class above imo, cancelo dias laporte and a decent lb would be a thing of beauty

Great to see Laporte back but the way Stones is playing he will not be getting into the starting 11 anytime soon unless Stones or Dias get injured.
It’s a really odd situation this. Before his injury, he would have walked into any team in Europe. I want him to stay here but I don’t like unnecessary rotation at CB and at the moment, as you say, he doesn’t get in the side. If someone had said to me at the start of the season that he would be behind Stones in the pecking order, I would have thought they were on glue.Played ok but i genuinely think he's now 3rd/4th choice.

Maybe. Depends on who's available. We started against Palace with Dias, Stones and Walker in a back 3 in possession with Cancelo inverting at LB into midfield.Played ok but i genuinely think he's now 3rd/4th choice.
If he has decent time left on his contract, there is no way we sell to the scousers. I think we would sell him somewhere else for less, over letting him go there. Thankfully we are one of the few clubs who could afford to do this.We all would.Football is mad.
Ive said it before but i can see Klopp getting his claws into him come the summer.
Dias is what i was hoping Laporte was going to be.Good supplementary player to go alongside a leader AKA Dias, but when he’s in alone he can’t steady the entire ship. The whole defence looks wonky as fuck without Dias. I rate Laporte, but Dias has already superseded him.
Under contract until summer of 2025. Not going anywhere unless he wants to force a move.If he has decent time left on his contract, there is no way we sell to the scousers.
