Really unpleasant, unnecessary and over the top. But you got the attention you were seeking I guess. Perhaps you were just having a bad day?Thick as pig-shit.

Not sure you can compare cricket and footy commentary given one of em lasts four days..Very true. Nothing personal against Micah but the laughing does my head in and he doesn’t offer anything like what you say. Though none of them do.
I’m a huge cricket fan. The sky coverage of cricket is world class. Atherton and Hussain giving fantastic analysis every single day, and there’s something there for everyone no matter their level of understanding of the game.
Got a long way to go with that in football coverage in this country
Yeah, that 'thick' he's managed to carve out a football career, score presenting jobs with international broadcasters, write several newspaper columns and become a millionaire.Thick as pig-shit.
Too right, I was castigated in my household for calling out Murphy and his biased Klan mentality when Foden didn't get it and the Scouse twat gave it to the big lumpThose who criticise Micah need to compare that to the ridiculous sycophancy we witnessed yesterday from Mowbray, Jenus, Lineker and Shearer, all we got was Pogba this Pogba that, Trent Trent Trent bla bla. The 'Excellent' Luke Shaw, who just went missing for both Liverpool goals, but lets just ignore that. Add in Murphy deliberately ignoring the best player on the pitch for MOTM at Cheltenham and thats the level of pundit we have in this country. For me Micah stands up very well against that drivel.
This isn’t particularly pointed at Micah, just pundits in general; but, after MOTD the other night I couldn’t be arsed finding the remote so just left the NFL show on that was on after it.Fair enough, mate. When I watch football on the TV (I rarely watch in English, usually German or Spanish) I hope to hear intelligent commentary, something insightful from the people commentating or analyzing the game, something about what's happening on the pitch I can't figure out for myself. What I don't need is someone stating the bleeding obvious, missing the intricacies of what Pep is doing or spouting partisan bullshit.
He has a documentary on the subject out/coming out this week I believe so was probably promoting that.Saw Micah interview on BBC news this morning talking about racism. Comes across as a great bloke.
Agree with your last paragraph, there are actually some really good, interesting, articulate, younger pundits coming through like Nedum, Jobi McAnuff, Steve Sidwell and Liam Rosenior etc. But I sadly suspect their opportunities will be limited due to their club CVs and when so many Redshirt cheerleaders get pushed to the head of the queueThis isn’t particularly pointed at Micah, just pundits in general; but, after MOTD the other night I couldn’t be arsed finding the remote so just left the NFL show on that was on after it.
Listening to the two pundits that were on there made MOTD look like something off CBBC.
The two lads were knowledgable and insightful about tactics, something you rarely see in football punditry. There was insight about why certain teams have got to where they have in the season, pinpointing individuals’/teams’ strong/weak points. At no point did they mention “top top player” or “world class”, and despite being Yanks there was none of this toddler English that doesn’t even make sense you get from football pundits (“ah ffink he done a good cross dare”).
Then watch cricket and rugby union and they’re even better. Rugby league to a lesser extent because Sky often pick the same level of pundits as football, with Terry and Barry not being particularly tactically insightful either. However, Peackock and Wilkin are very good on the BBC.
It’s about time we demanded better from pundits in this sport. I’m more arsed about them being insightful and talking like they’re older than a 3 year old, and that they know the fucking laws of the game and not give us their stupid opinion on the laws of the game (all week, a huge number of them have appeared to be simply stupid when it’s come to the offside law with the City-Villa goal and then the Villa-Newcastle goal); than I am about their anti-City/pro-United+Liverpool guff.
Hopefully Micah keeps improving and becomes a decent pundit. He’s of the new breed, young, not long out of the game, hasn’t played for United/Liverpool and does come across as a nice and enthusiastic lad. And I hope he doesn’t just tread down the same path as all the others because he’s around them and learns all the bad traits from them.
I'll always love the lad if only for that first ever interview, straight up 'heart on your sleeve' 'exuberance of youth' stuff, fuckin love it !I like him.
How could you not?
ha ha ha ha ha ha. Do for me Tommy !You always regret it but still do it? That doesn’t seem very bright. Thick as pig shit some cruel blue may say.
Maybe at half/full time when Micah is on you could just put on a bit of Chopin, read a bit of Chekhov(in the native tongue no doubt), do a Rubik’s cube in 10 seconds or the Times crossword in full until he shuts up.
You could also ring the emergency services and ask them to pull you out of your own arse:-)

Nedum, but also Paul Dickov, Andy Morrison - both do an excellent job alongside Natalie on the matchday show. I also rate Michael Brown as a pundit, never seems to get much airtime beyond his co-comms dutiesI like him although I wish we would see Nedum more
