I was just reading a piece online about how fantastic City's resilience had been to losing their record goalscorer for the majority of the season and yet are still fighting in all 4 competitions. The article added it was devastating for City (and the Premier League) that the current pfa player of the year was now out for 6 weeks and it would be a credit to the coaching staff if they could stay the course with arguably it's two most influential players out.

Do you have a link ML? Thanks.

I can't find the link... I think it was on the notafuckingchancethisarticlewouldevergetwritten.com website
Haha, I should of known that would of been way too positive of an article to ever be written about us, would of been nice to see though, we can all dream!

It's fair enough to mention the price tag but where is the context that we started five players who cost us virtually nothing namely: Foden, Garcia, Steffen, Zinchenko, Harwood-Bellis, and Doyle. To present information in such an unbalanced way is just dishonest.
The BBC also got it wrong by saying Dias cost £61m but it was £46m plus Otamendi. They did the same with Cancelo who actually cost us £30m plus Danilo. So in the real world we bought Dias and Cancelo for less than United paid for Harry Maguire. It was fantastic business but doesn't fit the false narrative that somehow we are profligate with our spending.
I didn't mind them comparing the price of players between City and Cheltenham. Everyone watching knows the difference but I think it puts the situation of the two clubs into context. Not only did City have players on the pitch that cost more than Cheltenham Town FC some of them could possibly afford to buy Cheltenham.
We're probably a little sensitive as City fans about the constant reference to our players cost. Especially as it doesn't seem to happen to others who spend more and pay more and get less for it

long thought City have been trying to play the political game rather than fight, hence why we put up with shit like last season. It's sad but I guess protecting the investment takes priority and taking the hits on the pitch is just the trade-off.
Agreed. I often read on this thread that City should take on the media. Personally don't think it's a good strategy.
As an example when Klopp bit back at an interviewer a few weeks back it was amazing how they all seemed to round up on him. And they love Klopp.
When Ferguson used to bully the journalists by banning them, he was in a very powerful position. Those journalists knew they couldn't do their job if they weren't in the room. If City did the same, and there have been some appalling underhand questions aimed at Pep, they would just write their unconfirmed shit anyway.
It is annoying at the moment but they'll learn to love us as time goes by.

I'll take that a little further. A City employee told me about the time, post a managerial press conference (might have been Mancini but it doesn't really matter) when they came across 4 journalists from the so-called 'red top' papers, all from different titles, discussing the line they were going to take in spinning something the manager had said.

And a senior club employee told me directly not that long ago that they know there is an organised agenda against us in the media and who's behind it.
And we sit back and let them do it. Where is the PR dept for God's sake?

It's no fuckin wonder when its bullshitted on every tv advert space around the world . All the media are cunts !

How do they know how many people watch it ?

When you turn your tv on does it somehow tell the bbc/sky etc that you have turned in ? How do they know how many people in my house are watching it ?
How are viewing figures worked out, I dont like the idea that my tv is telling some big brother what I am watching. It would be very embarrassing for me if it leaked out that I like to watch 'Midsomer Murders'

Good job you aren’t part of the panel of people who are selected for sample monitoring then!
