Chester was full of people with plastic Scouse accents. I actually don't mind real Scouse accents but the plastic one just grates my ears. My ex-stepsister used to talk like that, as did I before I knew better. The North Wales accent now is awful, I remember years ago, my cousins lived there and had a lovely quaint Welsh accent, saw him 20 years on and he'd developed some bastardized Welsh/scouse hybrid thing, just wanted to smack him every time he opened his mouth lol, but it's very common there now.
Yeah they are like fucking cockroaches...Like all resourceful vermin you can never fully eradicate it.
They were fuckin wank against Burnley, totally clueless...I don't think Liverpool have been that bad it's just that this season all their luck ran out for a few games, that's regarding injuries, var calls and chances that normally went in hitting posts and defenders. After three high energy seasons their pace dropped off a bit not unlike ourselves.
I'm pleased we managed to get some points in the bag over them during this spell as they will come back.

The Moores family basically bank rolled them out of the 2nd Division using money generated from Littlewoods Pools which was the only legalised form of gambling at the time ( for "Dirty Oil Money" read "Dirty Gambling Money")I'm currently in a debate about City and Liverpool's history. Is there any info on Liverpool's 1960's investment and the Moores family?
Thanks, bud. Amazing how City's dealings and business is in our faces yet Liverpool's is always kept quiet. The Moores family basically bank rolled them out of the 2nd Division using money generated from Littlewoods Pools which was the only legalised form of gambling at the time ( for "Dirty Oil Money" read "Dirty Gambling Money")
They signed players like Ian St John for fees and paid wages that many established 1st Division clubs couldn't afford at the time.
Some older posters will know more but I'm sure they signed some other Scottish players and were referred to as The McMercenaries.
In their past history they were formed by a local business man ( John Houlding) who became their Tory Lord Mayor (so much for them being a big socialist club eh) who gave them a free stadium and bought them a whole team of top class players to enable them to win the league.
After he died, they faded into obscurity for years (with the exception of 1 league title just after the war) and were wallowing in Division 2 and didn't emerge as a force until they were bankrolled by The Moores family.
No worries mate. Thanks, bud. Amazing how City's dealings and business is in our faces yet Liverpool's is always kept quiet.
When Shankly first arrived at the club and saw the run down stadium/conditions at the club he thought he made a huge mistake leaving Huddersfield for them. The Moores family basically bank rolled them out of the 2nd Division using money generated from Littlewoods Pools which was the only legalised form of gambling at the time ( for "Dirty Oil Money" read "Dirty Gambling Money")

Didn't he get them to install drainage on the pitch as they had none? When Shankly first arrived at the club and saw the run down stadium/conditions at the club he thought he made a huge mistake leaving Huddersfield for them.
Your right, found this to be a good read on the state of the club when he first went thereDidn't he get them to install drainage on the pitch as they had none?
I also seem to remember the cultists banning his autobiography from the club shop after he had the temerity to thank the Moores family for their financial support.
Thanks for that BB you filled in a few gaps in my knowledge. I dont remember much of themThe Moores family basically bank rolled them out of the 2nd Division using money generated from Littlewoods Pools which was the only legalised form of gambling at the time ( for "Dirty Oil Money" read "Dirty Gambling Money")

Great post Mike,Thanks for that BB you filled in a few gaps in my knowledge. I dont remember much of them
in the 50s. In those days Blackburn, Burnley, Preston Bolton, Blackpool and of course the rags were the teams we knew best because they were local and we were allowed to go to away matches. They were in the second division and of little interest. Then in 62 out of blue they won the league and got carried along with the Merseysound, the Swinging 60s and they had a silly little song which fortunately l can't remember. And they went from strength to strength but in no way dominant.
It was well known that they and Everton were being bankrolled with pools monies although Everton were nicknamed the Bank of England club. They had a member of the Moores family on their board.
There is a lot of their history they bury and create a smokescreen with new 'istree.
History is one of those words which taken on a new mea ing for football fans. I always look at ours from the time we were founded. Liverpool and others treat history in a similar manner to saying the history of this country started in the 1700s and the Industrial Revolution.

They really are on another level when it comes to lack of knowledge, denial and delusion.Haha.
Had a scouser rather upset on Facebook when I mentioned their Littlewoods money.
He got rather abusive rather quickly : )
He was spouting off about outside investment, so I mentioned the Littlewoods money.
Worked like a charm.
He then changed to us being cheats cos we failed ffp, I pointed out so had they, once but it would have been twice if it wasn’t for the money they offset for their imaginary stadium.
He quickly pointed out that they never built a new stadium and I was an idiot, why would they spend money on a new stadium when they were staying where they were? Haha and I’m the idiot.
I told him to google it and come back to me.
He did and come back with “well you’re still cheats”
Hahahaha candle fumes must affect their brains.
