There is also the suggestion that ASTRA ZENECA jab reduces transmission.
Meanwhile, Macron and others continue to say this drug is not safe or not effective and UK taking risks. No evidence at all for these assertions. Disgraceful. Presumably, then, the French will not want any of this jab.

So they died in the end? Same thing happened with that family who live near my parents, who I mentioned.

From Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day, there were various groups of people in-and-out of their house. Police called a few times from different people up the street, they told some people they didn’t care, don’t believe in Covid being this big pandemic it’s being made out to be, that it’s “just a new cold virus”, and everyone grassing them up were cunts...

First week in January the woman from that house, late60s, took ill; two weeks later she was dead.

The worrying thing is, my Sister’s husband’s parents also have this exact same attitude! Took a lot of arguing and close-to falling out language from me to get my Sister on my side of thinking after she was putting pressure on our Mam+Dad to let them go round so the kids could see their Nannie and Grandad. They did go round a couple of times when we were in the Tier system which meant hey shouldn’t have.

At the same time as this, my Brother-in-law’s parents were having gatherings for Sunday dinners round their house for all their kids and grandkids.

Thankfully my Mam+Dad saw sense had a word with my Sister, and then my Sister changed her attitude too.

They have shown asymptomatic cases are dropping in the group, so that means less transmission is occurring. No doubt Oxford have allowed for other reasons in their, so far unpublished, stats.

complete madness when you think about it, those near me in their 50s and thats no age. well they were warned so play with fire you get burnt,but in their circle of social gatherings how many inocents are now being vented or even dead

I heard that idiot, he said if it costs him money to prevent one suicide from one of his customers due to mental health then it's worth it. No understanding that just one person could transmit Covid and ultimately death due to his irresponsible actions.

We have to be careful about opening up society. It shouldn’t be done for a good while yet.

It’s not about people under 50 not being particularly negatively affected by Covid, it’s that a greater spread of the virus will increase the mutation rates. So the more we open things up, the more it’s spread around, the more it will mutate, and one of these mutations could be one that by passes the vaccine and we’re back to square one.

For me, we should be immunising the entire population of the country, having no community spread, only then open society up, at the same time as keeping the borders closed long after we’re all vaccinated so that no new variants are coming into the country, and keep producing the vaccine for the rest of the world.

The economy would be more harshly affected if we go back to square one again because we were stupid and opened up society too soon.

The Covidiot behaviour from Macron is a bit embarrassing. I am just glad that (so far) the Oxford / AZ vaccine has been proving the doubters wrong. The proof of the pudding will be in the protection it gives to our Country / people and hopefully the Pfizer jabs will be very effective “in the real world” too. The signs are positive.

Removing restrictions is a finely balanced decision. We must not let the economy completely wither, that leads to life threatening situations (eg domestic violence) and serious mental health issues. Not an easy call, so let us not be too hasty to criticise.

If it continues the go well and the UK gets a major gain out of the vaccines over the EU it'll be spun to ignore comments like Macron and we'll be painted as bad UK for not giving them all our ordered vaccines as they buggered up at their end.

We like the EU should have enough on plates without trying to score points. By the middle of this year there should be enough vaccines for everyone across Europe.

British ministers have been very placatory in their response to some provocation from France and the EU, yet a commissioner accuses us of wanting to start a vaccine war. Maddening.
Surprised Senor Teabag has not stuck his oar in!
