Not arsed about scoring 4/5/6 and couldn’t care less who gets them, we just need 3pts to keep the pressure on the murderers going in to their Brighton game.

Hopefully and early goal and a 2nd before half time to kill it as a contest.

We don’t want to be under the cosh at 1-0 up with 10mins left, nor do we want to be heading in to the 70th minute at 0-0

My concern is that despite the results we are slowly regressing to that slow slow build up from the back. 20 meaningless passes whilst the opponent builds a defensive wall . Sometimes 20 minutes of no engagement goes by. It’s ok if a bit dull at times but it’s a risky strategy.
That was more down to the Cancelo and Jesus playing, Cancelo offers far more than distribution etc which speeds things up and Jesus well he just seems to run around a lot. The key comes from our full backs and getting that ball up early, Walker will play Sunday to combat Mane and Cancelo on the left against Salah and to keep TAA on the backfoot.

Exactly but I have a little more faith in our defence these days. Theres a determination to keep our clean sheets going.
Burnley are no mugs though especially from set plays. We'll need to limit the number of free kicks we give away on the flanks. They are specialists at heading.

Well my first season ticket was in 1976 and been going ever since an I don’t see the need to continually slag off the same players(maybe Jamie Pollock). It’s not constructive criticism to say a player such as Gundogan has been wank for 3 years when he played a pretty crucial part in us winning the title only 2 years ago.
FWIW I’ve always been a fan of Gundo and my comment wasn’t a direct reply to the discussion on him but rather a general observation re some posters who get triggered by the slightest hint of negativity or complaint about one of our players or any decision the club makes.

I think people should be allowed to voice their frustrations at players and it doesn’t make someone any less of a fan if they do.

Yep.

Its the main reason I think we’ll go far in the CL this season. We’ve got added grit in there now and feels like they all trust eachother too.

Tonight we’ll have most of the ball, have the most corners, the most shots and create the most chances....we just need to convert them better than we were at the start of the season.

Just hoping for a routine 2/3 nil win and move onto the next one. Always a tough place to go play when the fans get involved, but without any crowd we should get away with three points I hope.

Hoping our form holds up going into the next game, but hoping the boys don't look past this upcoming game which with Pep in charge I doubt they will.

Was he fuck utter wank for 3 years and nor is Mahrez “utter wank”. Pep knows it, most City fans know it, but I accept you don’t, but maybe that’s coz you are a gobby spoiled “utter wanker”.
I will tell you something else that is utter wank, which is my IT skills, but assuming I searched the right place I got Mahrez’s goals and stats for the last 3 seasons as (per 90 mins)

20/21. 0.66
19/20. 0.93
18/19. 0.74

For someone who is in and out of the team and doesn’t take pens (I accept there’s a reason for that) I would have thought that was pretty fucking good, rather than “utter wank”. Then again what do I know, and what does City’s best ever manager know, cos you know better
Stop sitting on the fence BBS and tell us how you really feel FFS ;-)

"Spoiled"? You mean I have an opinion and don't have an autograph book?

I went home and away every week when we were in the 3rd tier. And I had opinions then, too. I thought Nigel Clough and Ged Brannan were utter wank at the time.

Granted, Gundogan and Mahrez have been a higher grade of wank, but it's all relative.

While you're doing your research, maybe you could tell me what our win percentage was with and without Gundogan in the team last season.

Mahrez goal and assists stats are ok, but not sure if you watch the games? He slows us down, constantly chops the ball back to our centre half when he's 1v1 against his fullback, taking the easy option. He's scared to tackle. The only thing he's interested in doing is cutting inside on his left foot and shooting to the far corner. If he can't do that, he's not interested.

His "performance" against Cheltenham was arguably the worst, most shithouse performance of the modern era. Possibly second behind Robinho away at Portsmouth.

And similarly when posters constantly slag the same players with the same monotonous shit and unfunny FFS shite, then people are allowed to express a different view, so I don’t really get your point. I have to admit that this FFS Mahrez, Mahrez is “utterly wank”, Gundogan was “utterly wank for 3 years”, is the same people sprouting the shame shite; I hate to admit it but I lived in Burnley for several years cos of my job, and I have seen it time and time again - the same unfunny jibes and “jokes”, the same insults game after game, it’s the stuff of fucking inbreds. I don’t mean you rcw, I am just responding to your point about the people who get pissed off reading the same insults and the same “jokes” from the same inbreds every fucking game

You are entitled to your opinion as am I. Yes I used to go to the games, yes I watch them now. I think you are as wrong as you think I am. I am happy to let Pep decide who he thinks is “utter wank”, and most people would agree he is a better judge then either of us.

One of my great failings in life BUsaB, always bottling up my feelings. However if people want to call top class players (in my view) utter wank then I find it appropriate to add some balance as to who the utter wankers really are. Funny how as A TEAM, we can play poorly against (say) Cheltenham but you always know there are only one or two players who will get blamed for it.

We have faith in the back four now that’s the biggest difference we barely concede chances these days so against certain teams we can pretty confidently sit on a lead

Agreed. My biggest frustration with Mahrez is he has the ability to go past players and make things happen in big games, he did it at Leicester numerous times. With us though, I think he just plays to the mood of the game rather than directly impacting it with his actions. By that I mean if we're coasting, then he'll join in with his party tricks and if we're rubbish, he'll go missing. It's frustrating as fuck.

Jeez wtaf?
I don't get it?

Thought that team might provoke a reaction BWGS and BM23 but happy to explain. I guess that playing Eric, Cancelo (in midfield) and Ake are the areas where some explanation is needed ? I'd play Eric instead of Ruby as he has played a lot of football recently - save him for Liverpool away; Eric has just come back from injury and needs minutes.........I'd like to see Cancelo in the right midfield position at the start of a few games; he's been playing there - successfully - a couple of times anyway. Ake is injured - was not sure if he was when I picked the team - he is now so Zincho for me. Same for Sergio.........but if he wasn't injured, I'd start him and bring him off after 60 minutes as he needs to get match fit. I'd like to see this line up a couple of times against - so called - lesser opposition. That all said, I expect tonight to be tough but feel that team is more than up to it and, of course, we have a strong bench.............
