Now? Aouar isn't getting in the starting 11 ahead of Gundogan.
It was worth 40m for the effect it has had on John Stones.I wish we used the Ake money to buy Aouar. £40 million for someone who doesn’t get in our starting 11
Stones has reinvented himself and now with Dias and Laporte ,we have 3 world class CB's.
World class ? this is where we always seem to get ahead of ourselves .Three very very good CH with more than a little potential to become world class .Lets just wait and see ,they have only been playing half a season together .As for Stones as much as he has worked very hard with his game and having Dias alongside him his biggest benefit is not having Otemendi alongside him ( he was always a car crash waiting to happen despite him winning trophies )It was worth 40m for the effect it has had on John Stones.

John Stones lost his way, on and off the field, the John Stones of today looks a very happy guy and it shows on the pitch and off it apparently.

Interesting question. Would it mean they would make a World XI. Doubt it. Would it mean they are good enough to play in a world cup or champions league winning team. Yes, all 3.It depends upon one’s definition of “world class”

If I had to wager a guess I'd think something might be up with recovery. Some injuries can flare up again very easily during early recovery.

My criteria would be; take the top four teams of the strongest leagues and ask would the player merit a place in the starting eleven?
