Calling all Tories. Why do you Tory?

You cant just ''use them for selfish gain'' .... this is one of the myths of the right wing. You can only get to use a food bank if you are referred usually by the DWP , Social Services or your doctor
That’s not true though is it
Myth my arse.
I’m not saying they are all at it but some certainly are

If I were to ask you what in your view was wrong with Thatcher’s government, you’d still be writing your post in reply at Christmas. Yet for all the divisive things that administration did, they never ever failed to provide for the most needy. They shaved what they provided to the bone and beyond, but that fundamental obligation that the government will not let its people starve, was one they always kept. Just as every other Tory and Labour government since the war has done.

But what this current bunch of cunts has done is abandon that basic responsibility.
So Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill, Harold MacMillan, Alec Douglas Home, John Major, Clem Attlee, Harold Wilson, James Callaghan, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown all ensured that the nation never deserted its people.

David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson all have done.

And yet there are those on here who cannot bring themselves to condemn them for it.
With respect mate, this is just isn’t true and it’s indicative of the hyperbole on this thread. Since Cameron left office, austerity has eased and Johnson’s January 2020 budget was Blairite in its spending levels, at the lower levels too.

I actually thought it was too much and I am for a big safety net.

Unfortunately Covid ruined that and since Covid they have introduced the most left wing measures ever. The government has paid 80% of the wages for the employed, it’s communist in nature but we can probably all agree it was needed.

The issue is, we are all going to have to pay for it at some point, the deficit won’t disappear.

Even under May, austerity eased. It was Osbourne’s and Cameron’s ideology. Liberal socially and austerity economically.

Personally I have zero time for either policy as an ideology.

this is what is wrong with a lot of tory supporters, always thinking the poor are scroungers and on the make, when in reality the vast majority of the poor are just hard working normal people who are struggling

You do realise the majority of people who voted Tory in 2019 were working class?

For the record I donate to the local food bank quite often
I am happy to do this as I know most of them need this and deserve it
I also think some people abuse it, but I do it for the ones who need it.

Tell me which bit isn’t true. And be prepared to back it up with facts.

I already did.

The Tory’s 2020 January budget was the biggest investment in public spending since about 2005.

Their furlough scheme is the most left wing economic policy in the lives of anyone on this forum, obviously in an emergency.

You think Tory supporters dislike the poor, when it’s the working class that put them in power.

It’s delusion.

if you think that the working class people cant think that other groups of working class poor people are dossers and scroungers then i think it is you who are delusional.
divide the poor, get them to turn against each other, it helps the right to get power, its what the right have been doing for centuries

Yeah those thicko working classes, we only don’t vote Labour because we are being manipulated against doing so.

It’s no wonder we give you two fingers at every poll.

i didnt say they were thick
you dont have to be thick to be misled

thats the million dollar question isnt it
if i had the answer i would be pm
But you have claimed we are.

If you didn’t have an answer why are you saying it?

Do you think you’re more likely to make us vote for Labour next time?

because at the moment I fucking won’t be.
