Breaking records/stats thread

Opta never counted it as a win.
But UEFA, FIFA, The FA & IFAB state it as a win. This is from English football records.
Most consecutive wins (all competitions): 20, Manchester City
(26 August 2017 – 3 December 2017

Yes it doesn't matter what Opta says. We already have the official all competitions record. If you don't count penalty wins then a lot of trophies would have to be chalked off for clubs. The Rags and LFC would lose at least one Champs League each. A win is a win.

I'm happy to lose the record and a league cup if it costs them a champions league apiece, I'm with Opta on this one.

When United went on a long winning run under Fergie, one of the games was a 2 legged tie, they lost the first but won over 2 legs, so the run continued.

Surely today was the quickest any team has ever got to 200 wins under a manager as well?
I put some stats on the ‘Media Thread’ on 17 January, after Guy Mowbray (who I do like as a commentator very much) waffled on about some meaningless statistic which suggested Klopp had hit 200 Premier League games that day against United and only Mourinho as a manager had a better win ratio than him in the first 200.

The data clearly indicate that Guardiola is on course for a much, much better win return in the first 200 league games. As it stands now, with 5 more league games played (and with Pep at an additional 5/5, Klopp 2/5), the numbers are

- Klopp 129 wins out of 205 games (63%)
- Guardiola 127 wins out of 173 games (75%)

But you can bet your bottom dollar Pep, like City, wil never be lionised by the media in the way that it does with its favoured sons and teams, usually in Red..

I remember this pointless debate from two years ago lol. The match finished as a draw and the penalties decided the tie.

I don’t care what Michael Cox (Arsenal fan & former record holders) said. He would say that wouldn’t he. I prefer what the various governing bodies said. I commented same in that very thread. IFAB stated back then it is a win, as penalty kicks are used to determine the outcome of the match. I don’t get why we play this down.

Let's beat that record this season and make it completely unambiguous.
