Still trying to get my head round the united penalty. Why did var tell the ref to check the monitor when he was clearly offside. So whether it was a foul or not wouldn't come into it.so why get him to check the foul

my bet is if sky did not show the offside on replay they would have gone straight for the pen and given it

VAR and the broadcaster work together and if they don't show the close offside and it goes on to a pen or goal it will be just fast forward goal given and kick off ? liverpool used it last season about 5 times and in the man city game mo salah goals was clearly offside but they did not even review it goal given ? its was only after the game that somebody put the replay up on the internet and salah looked offside

I think on Sky the presenter said that VAR has adjudged Maguire offside anyway but that's clearly bollocks otherwise Pawson wouldn't have been referred to the screen.
