Erling Haaland

Some here are saying we aren't even interested in a striker let alone Haaland. Others are saying Haaland will be a City player in the summer and now the latest is "his situation is blocked", whatever that means. I hope we do sign him, a front 3 of Foden, Haaland and Torres (same age,20) would be wonderful to watch.

If the overall cost of Haaland is too much why don't we buy a top quality attacking midfielder and improve further on our system of playing without a striker?

The guy scored countless goals in the Premier League for a few different teams. You talk about a weaker league, yet I’d argue the bundesliga is weaker than the Premier League. Do we not get Haaland now? Oh and god forbid a team plays to the strengths of one of its players. Pep obviously goes out of his way to make a system that our players can’t play. I’m not saying I want him but what a flimsy argument that is
Haaland is 20 and suits us. Lukaku is what, 28? We'd have to change our entire playing style to accommodate him, he's nowhere near good enough to justify it. Bundesliga is also comfortably stronger than Serie A.

The weaker stronger league argument is bollocks btw. We got Dinho from Ukraine, Eddy from Portugal, Cancelo was from Serie A too. If (and it is a big if) we got Lukaku i’m confident Pep would have had an idea on how he could use him

We won't be getting lukaku, the rumours are a load of shite. All those players suited the way we play. All had scope to improve. We've seen what lukaku can do here and it's not enough to justify ripping up our entire style of play.

Lukaku is the cheap option, board again considering stick to that "max £65m strategy". Its extremely disappointing that we are even linked to him.

That’s fine, I never said I wanted him. I just think it’s a bit harsh calling him a donkey wity the touch of a rapist.

The midfielder would probably be D.Luiz to replace Dinho.
Really hope the club is looking at Owen Wijndal at LB. The more I see of him, the more certain I am that he would be a perfect fit for us. Probably the closest to a left sided version of Cancelo there is. Can both go on underlapping and overlapping runs, but also very comfortable tucking into midfield. Great in posession, and brilliant crosser too

I went to check on the original source. This is from an article that follows a podcast with Romano. In the podcast, which I listened to, none of this is mentioned. They talk about Kayky, Zinchenko (that Barcelona wanted him last summer, about how professional he is etc) but that’s it about City. In the piece, there is one paragraph for about a dozen different clubs. The title for City’s paragraph: “Man City prepping for big summer?”... And then he says the left back is an OPTION and the midfielder was the only guarantee. Something doesn’t click. But then you look at what he’s saying about the other clubs, and it’s all a bunch of obvious statements. That’s the deal with Romano: he’s reliable about transfers when it comes to minutes or hours before they’re announced. Months in advance? Not so much.

My friend, some of those I wouldn’t even qualify as sources

Maybe Messi in the false 9 position is a stop gap for next season? played there under Pep at Barca, then go for Haaland the year after.

Lukaku has been great for Inter this year...he's leading Serie A in goals and is a big part of why they're top of the league. He's not going cheap.
