England vaccination data:

396, 937 first doses given - up from 284, 897 yesterday

15.8 million in England. 35.7% of all adults.

South West is at nearly 41% London at just 27%.

North West bang in the middle at more or less exactly the average
 
254 England hospital deaths

By region:

63 Midlands, 47 North West. 38 NE & Yorkshire, 36 London, 35 East. 21 South West, 14 South East

17 in Liverpool was by far the most in both the NW and the UK today. They are still paying for the lower tiers before New Year they were 'rewarded' with tragically.

Great numbers and hopefully a sign that the dip last week and the early part of this week is over already.

20 - 39 (3) 1.2%

40 - 59 (28) 11.0%

60 - 79 (102) 40.2%

80 PLUS (121) 47.6%

The data is much of a muchness but the number under 60 up to 12.2% today. About one in eight. Which is suggestively high. Becaue we assume the higher deatjs are falling faster.
 
England hospital deaths week to week on Thursdays:-

907 / 121 NW / 13%

630 / 123 NW / 19%

494 / 60 NW / 12%

309 / 42 NW / 13%

254 / 47 NW / 18.5% Today

The strange thing is that neither China or Russia with their Sputnik vaccine are making any great effort to vaccinate their populations but instead they are offering them to medium-low income countries in order to gain political leverage seemingly. I thought China had all but suppressed the virus internally, and it would almost be easier to vaccinate everyone else. I doubt it's much to do with not having confidence in them.

China/Russia have invested in other countries for ages, and have done it very effectively - giving them something dangerous would undo all that - what this does is puts them miles ahead of large scale delivery to other countries.
 
On the under 60s proportion of deaths noticeably rising as it has from the data I post here daily - someone has kept score week to week and their numbers are evidence this is not an illusion.

Every Thursday since 31 Dec the under 60 percentage of the total - which was at a high today of 12.2% as I noted earlier goes as follows week to week:-

6.2% - 7.0% - 7.6% - 8.5% - 8.6% - 10.0% - 9.9% - 10.4% - 12.2%

Excellent work by them as it proves my sense of that was not false and may be the best evidence in the England hospital data yet that the vaccine effect is real.

Hmmm, that’s an interesting thought. Vaccinate the rest of the global population but not your own.

I’m somewhat dubious about that tbh.

Do we know if any of the 121 over 80s who died had the vaccine?

More likely "give the rich and powerful enough to vaccinate anyone they want done" - it won't be everyone.

I have no evidence for it, but it makes sense to me for authoritarians who can do what they want, and who can lock down areas at home easily.

A Dr Campbell video gave some info on it from the states. there was something 1300 people died after taking the vaccine, but when you looked at the stats it was something like 0.003% of those who had the vaccine died, taking into consideration they were all very old it was actually spot on for how many people would have died anyways in that time period at that age.
 
Daily cases back over 5,000 in the Netherlands and people flock outside and meet in parks in the warming weather. Wonder what will happen next?
 
Northern Ireland data:

5 deaths - was 6 last week

281 cases - was 342 last week

14.3% positivity - was 15.4 % last week

Weekly Cases total 1834 - down from 1884 yesterday - was 2041 last week

28 Care Home Outbreaks - down 10 on yesterday - was 49 last week

341 Patients - down 15 on yesterday - was 418 last week

32 ventilated - down 3 on yesterday - was 42 last week


Another really good day in Northern Ireland

Here are also the latest % testing positive in each age range from past 7 days

0 - 19 (240) 13.1%

20 - 39 (734) 40.1%

40 - 59 (567) 30.9%

60 - 79 (216) 11.8%

80 PLUS (76) 4.1%

I am pretty sure that 4.1% over 80 is the lowest it has been and the over 60s total and 15.9% is too.
