Anyone who doesn't think messi is still not the best player in football is doesn't know much about football. Messi will always be the best until he retires.

Never thought City fans were so deluded until I clicked on this thread. If Messi aigns for City, he will prove you wrong.
I don't think some people realise how good Messi is.

Even if his form completely nosedived upon arrival, he'd still probably end the season with 30+ goal contributions.

And that's if his form nosedived.

oh ok now modern football expert wants messi to play left back .
Nurse can you please inject me with whatever you gave it to him ? and make that double coz it seems like a good stuff.
Are u sure you speak english? I am french but i have the feeling my english is better than yours and it's embarrasing. I'm gonna try to explain it to you again. In modern and total football everybody defend and everybody attack and if you have just one player who doesn't defend (like Messi) you are fucked.

Most people here are watching Messi highligts but doesn't even watch his entire games.
We have a great team and great players, humble players who fight for each others and if you bring Messi you break this balance. Believe me if Messi comes and we play against the wolves or everton he will score 2 or 3 goals easily but when we will face teams with huge intensity like Liverpool or Bayern Munich he will disappear like he always does since 5 years now.

I understand the dream to have the best player of all time in our club but it's too late now. Don't hate me because i'm saying the truth the facts are with me. Just watch ALL the Messi games since 5 years agains teams with high intensity and you will see i am right. This dude almost get Luis Enrique fired cause he was telling him to change his attitude. This dude killed David Villa career at Barcelona for the same reason. This dude doesn't have the intensity (especially at his age) for the Premier League(i'm talking about the tough games).

At City you will see Kevin deBruyne run for the team and he is a world class player. Messi will never run for the team, he will walk and wait. Let him go to PSG and destry this club.

Hi french psg mole . You just blew your cover

Man if you want to believe this that's your choice. I can tell you i hate PSG since some racists bitches try to beat me up(10 against one and yes i am black). Luckily for me i run very fast. Since that day i am the biggest fan of the Olympique de Marseille.

Now if you reaaly want to talk about football with reals arguments you are more than welcome.

Getting Messi would probably mean Aguero has to go. Unless we decide against signing Haaland/another striker for another year which i can't see happening.

How many would take that deal?
Most I would imagine.

Aguero is hands down our greatest ever goal scorer but currently (and I hope I’m wrong) looks like he’s going to struggle to stay fit.

Messi is the greatest player to ever walk on a football pitch and is rarely injured.

Aguero to NYCFC 2 year contract
Messi 5 year contract. 2 at city 3 at NYCFC

Sorted. No arguments for the no.10 shirt too.

Haaland in for the long haul.
No chance Aguero is going over to play in MLS at 32. Not when he’ll have the likes of Barca, Juve, PSG willing to give him 2 yrs.

I honestly think we could keep Messi, Haaland, Aguero and Jesus happy but would involve shipping out Mahrez and Messi sometimes playing from the right.

jesus/Sterling/foden can all play left side

Sterling/Foden/Bernardo/Messi can all play right side.

Id say that’s enough cover

I can’t see enough key games for every player if Messi and Haaland join and only Mahrez leaves.

I expect based on zero inside info whatsoever that if Messi joins then Haaland will be next year

Messi will love having Kun here

Love it

Time will tell!

I’m fairly confident of us signing at least one of Messi/Haaland so either way it’s gonna be fun next year when we’re all allowed back!

Still can't believe there's people questioning whether we should get Messi or not. Man scores for fun. I want to boil piss god dammit come on Messi

Anyone else think Leo has looked happier at Barcelona recently? Could be reading too much into things but he has ran harder and looked ecstatic to be scoring for them etc when he didn’t earlier in the season?

If an English side signs Haaland, they win the next 3 or 4 titles at least. I want that side to be us.

Now if going after Messi means we miss the bus on Haaland, that would be criminal in my book. Even more so if Messi drags this whole saga out over the whole of the summer window, which I think he will, before miraculously mending bridges with Barcelona and agreeing a new deal there.

If we sign Haaland then nothing else matters and I’d be happy to go for Messi on top as, even though I personally don’t think it is a good idea, I’m not arrogant enough to think I know better than the club and signing Haaland, after winning the title so well this season would generate so much boiled piss amongst the hateful 8 and their media chums that it would make the next few months enjoyable and wonderful to behold.

From a footballing viewpoint signing the hottest young striker since Aguero - as Aguero comes to the end of his powers - must be the number one priority and as long as any pursuit of Messi does not interfere with that I’m all good.

I guess the ultimate fantasy is City win 3 or 4 trophies this season, announce a good few sponsorship deals over the summer and autumn, AND sign Messi and Haaland, thus sowing up England for the new few years as well as almost guaranteeing a couple of the next few Champs Leagues.

To be a fan or a member of the leadership teams at the red scum clubs would to be living a nightmare and I would love it.

Agreed but I honestly believe we will sign both, if Little Alf was not interested or more importantly we would not pay the going rate, it would be out in the open already. As it stands we appear to be in for him and in a serious way.

I would genuinely love to see Messi in a City shirt, but all good things come to an end. I think the risks probably outweigh the benefits when the team are at the top. If Pep wants to risk it, fair enough, and we'll have a blast watching him. I am not convinced he does. The priority will be a striker, with a high conversion rate, who could be around for years. One can see Pep's frustration on the touch line, at the chances we miss. He knows that against Bayern, we may only get that one chance.

P.S Write Aguero off at your perril etc, but I fear he is finished at the top table. Injuries have finally caught up on him.

For his own sanity thats a good thing. Being unhappy for that long isnt nice for anyone.
His happiness isnt what matters, its whether he thinks barca can be competitive
