The Etihad Pitch

Although I dont know Lee personally, I know of him as (cant believe I'm about to type this ffs), we both move in grass care circles and know some of the same people. He does an exceptional job, it'll be right as rain in no time.

Ye I noticed it had chopped up abit, only noticeable really as it's normally like a carpet

I have got to be honest I didn’t notice anything wrong with it but that’s maybe because I was brought up on mad heaps in the 70’s and 80’s.
Does he call Mike Doyle "Tommy Doyle" there ? Spooky if so.
Joe Mercer nicknamed Mike Doyle Tommy Doyle in the late 60’s

Although the pitch looked a bit off I though it was more down to the the way the grass was holding moisture and reflecting light in different directions. It certainly didn't play like a bad pitch. At no point did I see the ball bobble or deviate.

Compare and contrast to the Maine Road pitch in the late 80's when Stan Gibson and his team had to work round the clock to get the pitch anywhere near playable on match day.
No idea what you mean. They were perfect back then.

The pitch has, relatively speaking, been in poor state for weeks. It's not just the Etihad though, pitches all across the country seem to be in a bad way. Maybe they can't have the same number of people working in the same way as before because of lockdown / social distancing?

Maybe the grass misses us.
