Whoever gets stuck wide out left be it Raz, Torres ,or Phil it seems to nullify what they have to offer.

They get plenty of support from the left sided 8 whoever that may be and our striker more often than not drifts over to the left too when they need numbers out there. Its not as overloaded as the right but i would suggest it's a deliberate ploy from Pep to leave that side less populated because there's generally pace on that wing that benefits more from spaceIt's because of the lack of support they get on that side.. They never have someone overlapping.. Love Zin but he only ever offers a possession recycle in attack. Cancelo is right footed so rarely goes past the winger and Mendy never plays. So its all up to them to do it on their own.
Compare it to the right where Cancelo, Walker, Bernie and Kev will all link up with, overlap and make space for the winger.

It is a give and take with the left wing nowadays. In the past Mendy would hold the width on the left which would leave the left winger to invert. However, this wasn't a good set up against counter attacks. With Rodri and Gundo in a double pivot holding. It's because of the lack of support they get on that side.. That's fooked that then now you've told everyone. It is a give and take with the left wing nowadays. In the past Mendy would hold the width on the left which would leave the left winger to invert. Now the left winger is the one that holds the width with the LB (Zinch or Cancelo) inverting. This allows the 8 in Gundogan to get into the front line. We can see it's paying off for the team as a whole. We are more defensively stable and Gundo is getting us goals. However, the left winger needs to hold width a little more and be less involved at times. It's only when they get the ball with time and space can they try to create something. Against low blocks there isn't as much of that for them.
Going by the game against the dippers, I think Foden's best position is wide on the right side.Whoever gets stuck wide out left be it Raz, Torres ,or Phil it seems to nullify what they have to offer.

Not like Foden, he has a lot of energy and determination when forcing his way into the box from the right side, its totally different to what Bernardo and Mahrez provides at the right. He looked great in that inside-right channel. Unfortunately so do De Bruyne, Mahrez, Bernardo and Sterling. We have a load of players who do their best work in the same area, even if they all go about it very differently
Perfectly ready for another big game against United, he does well in these big games, and its been a while since he scored, I think it'll be a special game from him.
Especially considering the hole he tore in Wan Bisakka in the cup has only just healed. Who decides not to play a die hard blue with his quality in the bloody derby? Can't get my head around him starting on the bench.
Batters wan bissaka every time... bizarre that he didn’t start
