FIFA have an age limit for refs of 45 years. Pigmob 'are not allowed to retire referees because of their age. It is considered discriminatory'
Mason is 49 and Mike Dean 52!!!!
Hackett has apparently been saying for 3 years that Mason should retire and states that he is not physically fit enough to ref a game.
The game we all love is turning into a farce beyond our control as England have clearly decided they can ignore FIFA and do what they want.

Pigmob could easily bring in a minimum standard of fitness and eyesight and dismiss them on those grounds and not age but they don't want to. Also you're not discriminating based on age if it's backed up by hard evidence vis a vis competency. Plenty of industries have hard upper age limits for certain roles. Driving licences are shortened once people reach a certain age.

I'm absolutely fuming with that decision not to give a pen. Absolute corruption and shows VAR is not fit for purpose.
