That’ll do, a bit sloppy at times & a shocking decision not to give an absolute stone wall penalty, however we won.
Get in!!

Very odd game. We have played much better than that this season and dropped points.

Some good individual performances - Mahrez, Foden and Gundogan.

Much better from KDB.

Some average performances - Dias, Laporte and Zin.

Some woeful performances - Bernardo, Fern.

Then there’s Kyle Walker. Fuck knows what category exists for his performance. If we conceded a goal from a Cancelo back-heel, the meltdown on here would be off the scale. I cannot understand a footballer as negative as him, doing back-heels in his own half. Won’t make a forward pass, but is doing back-heels in his own half. BACK-HEELS. Then stands and watches for the 2nd and somehow and for some reason moves AWAY from the guy with the ball, who puts it away. Awful.

John Moss - fat, useless, cheating ****.

That was dreadful reffing. He was awful never mind the penalty but even throw ins etc were given wrong .

anyway he is just a shit round twat.

hinchcliffe i hope your pay was worth it because you have just lost any friends you had left at city.

dreadful

but city were good . Mahrez, zinny Foden and generally a lot more zip.

Admittedly not at our Stellar best.

After that shit show on Sunday though,i am happy, all that mattered tonight was 3 points.

A win,is a win,and that is all that matters at this stage of the season.

On the off chance you do read the forum Pep,please, please, please, play Stones in every game from here on in, until the Title is mathematically won, and leave the defense alone.Sure we won,but our defense dont look right, and is all over the show, leave it alone.

We didn’t play well-volume of games, heavy pitch, saints pressed constantly but moments of quality won the game. It’s going to be something of a grind from here on in.

Credit to the Saints who gave it a good go. We played well in isolated periods - mostly just after HT - but looked sloppy and not on it at other times.
Non penalty on Foden was a disgrace and obvious sign that the game is bent. Mahrez our biggest threat last few games. Good to bounce back after Sunday.

I don't know if it's a sign of how good we are, how bad Southampton are, or just a weird day, but we've won that at a bit of a canter, scored 5, had a truly ridiculously bent refereeing performance, yet genuinely think that was our worst performance in a long time. Seriously disjointed, massive gaps in midfield, horrible passing for the first half hour, but whenever we managed to string 5 passes together we looked like we'd score (and frequently did). Really weird game.

3 points is the important thing, one more win closer to the title. Need to regain our sharpness ahead of the CL games though because if we play like we did in the first half hour against a top side, the tie would probably be over.
Well you can certainly see why they've conceded 9 twice. Thought we were poor today but could have scored 9 ourselves. They are shambolic at the back.

Much needed win blues. I was a bit nervy coming into this because I couldn’t understand why we wouldn’t go hell for leather against the rags, local derby, 6 pointer......why not ??? Still scratching my head about it.

Anyway, great response from the team, Mahrez was beautiful....can’t find other words, he was almost perfect. Phil was Phil, everywhere, always looking to lay it off, receive it in tight spaces. Love the lad. He plays with the passion of a fan....

Big highlight for me was Aguero getting minutes, we know he needs games and we might just be witnessing a Pep masterstroke here as we get into the sharp end of the season. A fully fit and scoring Kun would make us unbeatable ......surely ?

Upwards blues !!

It’s hard to be overly critical when you score five and a team comes to attack you, but this performance reminded me of the start of the season, albeit one of the better ones. All of our control in midfield, of setting the defence before we launch attacks, of making smart decisions seemed to evaporate. Very much a sign that our best team has Rodri, Stones, and Cancelo, but let's hope we get that control back before the CL games.
Forget about performances, these last 10 games is all about getting points on the board, by hook or by crook we get the 3pts any which way.
5 more wins.

Well, that was retro City, wasn’t it. They were the better team after we scored our 5th, which proper annoyed me because I was desperate for Kun to score.

If Pep didn't decide to kill the game, along with a little help of our army of false nines and the defender formerly known as Americ Laporte, this could've finished as 11:4 or 13:5.
