Anyway, as you're all complaining about the game........ I'm doing the ceiling in the cellar which is plaster boarded. Can't be arsed plastering it, it's the cellar so don't see the point. Any ideas on a decent paint that will cover blemishes?

Well this "experiment" isn't working.
I'm not suggesting Fulham should be getting a hammering based on our respective positions, but we shouldn't be looking so disjointed.
Fringe players not helping their cause, and the left side currently looks a disaster.
We're better than we've looked though, so an improvement 2nd half please

In all the years I’ve seen Andre Marriner ref one of our games, I genuinely can’t recall him giving a 50/50 foul in our favour.

He was piss poor first half.. if he wasn’t giving Fulham a decision he was obstructing our play

That's true, but why do it in such an unusual formation. I expect this team will get us the 3 points, if played in our usual style that has been working for the past 20 odd matches.

Throwing guys who aren't playing regularly, into a totally new formation, is a pretty tough ask for them.

Agree but looking at games coming up this is the one to experiment. Fulham started quick & we have nullified that threat so it is working in my opinion although not the usual city slick way

Some of you need to realise that:

1) Fulham aren't an easy team to break down

2) We've had first halves like this even with that starting XI you think is perfect.


Barring a few crosses Fulham haven't troubled us. We look far more likely to score than they do.

Not really working this. Not sure if it's the rusty players, the formation or both. Just doesn't look like the City of the last few months. We've had a few shots but nothing that you wouldn't expect the keeper to save.

I'd prefer to see us revert back to our usual system but not easy to see how that can be done with only 3 subs. Would like to see Gundogan on to give us a bit more control.

This formation should be something we can work effectively. We have the right players for it. Unfortunately, we are trying to play it with a significant number of unfit players, and it shows. Mendy looked fucked after 5 mins.

Peps a fantastic manager but he has a flaw, he always seems to break up a winning team/formation , we’ve been a winning machine who he’s managed to make look ordinary in a few short weeks

We look solid enough at the back, as you'd expect with three centre halves, but lacking creativity in the final third. Jesus is playing well, but Aguero and Torres look off the pace. Could do with Foden and Mahrez in the second half.

Interesting, I think if anything we're too heavy in attack and the lack of midfield is leaving them isolated up there. No service or creativity.

Laporte & Mendy are not in the game. We need a link to the forwards. Gundo would do the trick for a Cb. Zin would also add creativity and control if brought on. That’s why I suggested those 2.

At the moment weren`t not under a great deal of pressure but I worry like fuck when Fulham get down our left hand side and Mendy sleep walking.
Bernie looks like the only player who wants to win this game and is trying to take the game by the scruff of the neck but others need to pull their finger out.
Knee jerk ?? Possibly but we can play better than this.I`d happily settle for a draw right now which wouldn`t be a disaster.
