I watched the Dortmund game and my immediate reaction was that he needs to eradicate that from his game.

Took his shirt off, threw it to a Koln player, didn’t even wait for the Koln player to return the favour and didn’t shake any hands before walking down the tunnel.

He would be right at home at the swamp then.

Because they aren't selling enough any newspapers now they have to get more and more sensational/ridiculous with each new story.
So basically, City have to lose to keep the falsely perceived romance of the FA cup intact?
Trophies are only romantic when won by the plucky underdogs the rags and dippers. Cup ties are only romantic either when these teams win or a smaller team (and hence a more beatable one for these 2 teams) manages to knock out one of the handful of clubs that can pose a genuine threat to these 2 brave, odds-upsetting outsiders.

You want him to eradicate any passion or emotion from his game?

City are mentioned 'under' the main headline.

Daily Mirror.

Real Madrid growing in confidence over Erling Haaland transfer in blow to Man Utd and Chelsea

If I remember correctly Derek Temple, Evertons cup final winner from a few years earlier was in the Wigan team. Well past his best.
Was it not round this time Wigan had their application to join the League refused because they gave gifts to the selection panel.
You're correct about Temple although I hadn't heard about the bungs.

I think that it was something silly, like watches or pens. It was down to the establishment to deny them a place. I cannot remember which team were awarded the spot.

Youre right, its just that we don't sign 'billy big bollocks' type players now. There may be a reason for what he did other than that - he's certainly not showed it until now. Hopefully it's frustation that he can't join god and jesus's club until next season.

Something else came to mind about that match, I might be wrong but it was first game with the new stand opening at the Scoreboard end.

All the bottom 4 were re-elected that season. Wigan got 14 votes but Newport and Hartlepool got 33 each, Barrow 38 and Lincoln 47.
Coincidentally all 4 have been or still are in non-league.

Cambridge United took Bradford PA's place in 1970. Hereford took Barrow's place in 1972 after a tie and a re-vote. Wigan finally got elected in 1978, taking Southport's place, a year after Wimbledon took Workington's place.
