Covid and travel discussion

If they're making noises now about stopping summer holidays, I fear the decision is made and they're laying the foundations for breaking the bad news soon

I'm hoping to get to the Canaries in late October but I've got a feeling that won't happen either

Well COVID is never going to go away. If the jab is 90% effective that’s decent odds. So for you, this is it now, forever? Work hard for my holiday, didn’t go last year, will hopefully be going this year, my little girl is young once, and she is being f denied happy memories that lots of other children who happened to be born 30-40 years earlier than her got.

I was born 47 years ago. I went abroad once in the first 19 years of my life. I have perfectly happy memories of Devon, Rhyl etc..

So many great places to see in the UK: Scottish Highlands, Gower area, Surrey, Berkshire, Dorset, Cornwall, North Yorkshire, Lakes, Norfolk, Suffolk etc..

As someone who has travelled extensively, I can assure you there are many sights and experiences in this country that match or surpass many in other countries.

Took the kids to Haven i think it was Newquay many years ago, also took them to Disney land America, they have better memories of Newquay, more to do with what they were allowed to do safety wise.

I've been to Corralejo a few times. I've noticed on social media that quite a few of the bars I used to go in the most are operating on severely restricted hours or are completely shut at the moment

Yeah mate 11pm there are vlogs on YouTube that have good info.

If we don’t have foreign travel, we’ll just get more variants springing up here.

Not true.

Dangerous mutations are rare and more likely to happen in areas where there is a lot of infection. (Because its a random event and the more throws of the dice you have, the more likely it is to happen.) So shutting the borders and keeping us isolated and we have much less chance of dangerous mutation happening, or being found, in the UK.

Booked Greece last week of August and hoping that we get away with PCR testing fingers crossed and test to release. If not, I'd be gutted, but probably do a week in London over Oct Half Term.
