Whereas those respectful of the cup's romance seek to get knocked out at the first opportunity or don't play in it.
I remember Pellegrini being crucified for putting a weakened team out against Chelsea about three days before our trip to Madrid.
Meanwhile klopp treats the competition with contempt but hes jolly good fun in the press conference so they will carry on sucking his farts

Is this Chelsea tv? With two Unfortunately s before City scored their fortuitous goal it seems like it
Yes it was Chelsea’s in house channel. The commentary was obviously pro Chelsea but actually very positive where city deserved it. Not particularly insightful just fair. A pleasure to listen to it compared with the twisted bollocks you get from so called professionals. THAT’s how bad things are with the UK media. Shameful

Mad you can get more impartial commentary on an official club channel.
Shame United's unofficial channel (BBC) can't offer the same

Exactly.

IIRC it was the BBC who wanted the game shifted for TV. Peller's got absolutely vilified, and they made it sound like he was being a mard arse, despite only having 13 fully fit players at the time.

Klopp just does what he wants and the press largely ignore it, despite his clear contempt for the competition.

Commentary was pretty good, once you’d adjusted to it obviously being pro Chelsea in-house.
One guy sounded like Hoddle though, and meant I couldn’t take much he said as anything other than drivelling crap.
They were complimentary when city controlled/passed/attacked well, and called out the woefully bad performance of nhmecha when he came on- not sure what was going on with him. When he came on, I though sure we’d put the game to bed.
I think MUTV commentary isn’t far from Tyler levels of bias, iirc from listening to one loss they had.

I may be wrong but I'm sure the angle was "foreigner disrespects oldest cup competition"
It's OK for a Scottish piss can to pull out mind

How dare you, Klopp had his strongest team possible to play Villa u14s they just happen to be a bit shit now.

The bit I saw was leaning to Chelsea and the screen too small for me to see much so l didnt stay for long but it's good to hear they were positive.
Totally agree with what you say about the so called professionals. I have never been in a job where the intention was to mislead other people. I wouldn't last two minutes where some editor told me to describe what l had just seen in a totally biased fallacious way.

For some reason rather than being in the open corner North/Kippax I was stood at the front of the Kippax with the tunnel behind me level with the penalty area at the Platt lane End for this game.

Only ever been down there a couple of times for raggy games when I fancied myself. Had a great view of it.

I believe VAR is looking at it

What a pathetic and desperate thing to write, this prat doesnt deserve to have a platform to spout his hypocritical bullshit, anyone would think we steamroll this competition every year. Arse have won it more than anyone but I bet hes never said this about them, or any other club that has won it more times than us.

Everton are seventh in the premiere league, fighting for a cl place with one of europes best and most successful managers, and this shithouse thinks beating them away is unromantic!!!! As someone has said, will he be the same if chelsea win today!!

Why, southampton knocked a championship side out yesterday, surely a lower league side left in the competition would have provided more "romance" for him. City were arguably involved in the most "romance of the fa cup" like game against cheltenham town, when we were losing with 20 minutes left, bet he cried onto his prematurely written headlines when we prevailed.

This prick isnt interested in anything but spouting hatred about us from his priveledged position, a sorry attitude to have, but one that is currently seen as acceptible and expected accross most of the footy media. He will hopefully get his chance to write about romance if the rags lose today.........but I wont hold my breath.

We still have a lot of winning to do to overcome all this bullshit with our policy of fighting them on the pitch, but with our current manager and squad, we are heading in the right direction.
You should read the article more carefully. He's not attacking City at all. He's talking from the perspective of a team like ours on course for a possible unprecedented quadruple who might have been stopped by a rookie goalie. And it would indeed have been a great FA Cup story, especially if Everton had won on penalties.
Just think of all the drama and glory of football in our first goal - great move forward by Laporte, KDB magic on edge of box, isn't that a pen, Laporte shoots from nowhere but still the best team in the country can't score as the rookie keeper magically finger tips it to safety....but hold on this is why this City team is so good, johnny on the spot gundog finished it off.

I take your point, as I havnt read it all, but the message in that first visible paragraph is still shit. Especially knowing that only a fraction of people will read it all. Oh, and is a possible shot at an unprecedented quadrupal a romantic dream also?? it certainly would be if the rags were in our position.

Couldn't agree more about the quadruple. In football terms it's a bit like the sub 4 minute mile.
You're right that if it was the media darlings we wouldn't hear the end of it

Correct. But I don't hear anyone mention that the rags can win a treble of their own, as unlikely as it is.
Mathematically, in with a chance of the league, FA Cup Q Finalist and the Ropey League Q Final.
Seems like a bit of deflective reporting going on here.
Probably because no-one believes there's even the remotest possibility of them actually doing it
