“To play golf, yes. I see it as very difficult, but there may be some exceptional circumstances. There is talk that Haaland, Mbappé will be signed… I don't know how, doing magic? A team like Barcelona has to release many players in order to bring in a star. This is basic. The same is not the case for Real Madrid, but it has to have other circumstances to do so. And they are the only two that today can bring those figures. Where are the players going to whom Barcelona can start? There are crises everywhere and except in state clubs, they don't fit anywhere else ”.

Why would he be happy staying at a club on less money with zero chance of winning the CL before he retires. I was in the doubtful camp, but not anymore. He’s coming. That’s why he’s smiling again. He knows.

Christ they sound desperate - Please carry on playing for Barca for a few more years. We can't pay you very much but think of the FCB Brand!! FFS
 
I know he represents La Liga, but why is he commenting on clubs' individual transfer business and likelyhood.

Barcelona and Real should really be pissed off about that. He may well be right, but it affects their image and stance as much as that of La Liga, they have literally gone out their way to project the opposite. I.e, that they are still powerhouses that can sign any player they want.

He should be worrying about whether he still has a job in a few weeks, RFEF were trying to recall him last I heard.

Messi wants but also SEEKS to play with Pep that's for granted. Barcelona STILL has huge financial problems that Bertomeu has not yet touched! The fact that he had not started to get into any discussions for a contract renewal is a very bad omen for Barcelona.
On the opposite direction, Barcelona's team is starting to work and players to find a certain bond and rhythm(without Fati and Coutinho also) and this might change Messi's mind about staying PROVIDED they will GUARANTEE a top transfer like Neymar etc. Can they do that? I very much doubt with current financial huge problems.
Yet, if Barcelona wins La Liga and the cup this might soften Messi's bitterness about team being awful and not be a competitive team in the last 2 years. Would this be enough? Who knows, but first Barcelona have to win these 2 trophies. Messi's 2 older sons also, do not want to leave and this is always something to think about as a factor.

Overall i think it's 60 % to leave and 40 % to stay.

I dont see anywhere where he activley seeks to play for pep, thats news to me. Barca have financial problems but barca still need Messi, who is not the source of their financial problems, he generates more money for barca then they spend on him. He still has time for contract talks, maybe last year he would come but now that barto is gone and new president is in he will likely stay. Mind you he still has probably one contract left in him, maybe 3 years at the most. No point in going to man city, best just retire at your boyhood club.

I'm glad you think he sounds desperate because he sounds to me as though he's off his rocker and hasn't got a clue what he's on about. The gravitas of someone cut out to speak for La Liga yet again.
