Rags, Howson, "might as well be Celtic", 14th tier of football. Who at the BBC commissioned/agreed this piece of crap paying a freelancer.

front page on BBC football. arghhhhh

The mind boggles. These twats really cant’t think or see any further than the view from their window at Media City

How many offshoots of the rags are they? Salford City, Fc United now this lot. Now the mother ship is an also ran in the premier league these mard arses go hiding elsewhere.
This is just a publicity stunt to promote Howson's Youtube channel. As usual the BBC has fallen for it hook line and sinker. There are no quotes in the story from any of the football authorities or anyone outside Howson's group to verify the facts. It is essentially a story about a pub team.
Hundreds of supporters' groups run Sunday or Saturday league teams across the country but they don't get free publicity funded by the taxpayers. The way they have written this story is misleading at best and fake news at worst. Precisely what you would expect from BBC sport these days.

Says it all with this comment at the end:

"There is really no need to spread out across all three tiers and spell out City in gigantic letters, but that’s what they’ve done and it looks good. The sort of reckless spending we thought we’d seen the last of in the Roberto Mancini era. Much like the actual league title, it turns out that money talks. A deserving winner. Now let’s never speak of this again".
Also the large letters spelling CITY on the top two tiers were done before the lockout of fans. As usual for every compliment, there are two or three untrue or bitter comments like the last sentence. It really does hurt them.

Anyone who finds offence in that article simply doesn't have a sense of humour.

I found no offence in it just pointing out it is not true what they say. The large CITY letters were done before lockdown, all I would like to see is the truth, not too much to ask of the media.

You sure ? I thought the big City letters covered the 3 tiers and have been covered. So City is now the the top two tiers and bottom tier with other banners ;)

Watching that shocking programme last night (something the BBC do , ie documentaries) about the paedophiles in football, and how it went on.
But something else that stuck me (I know not the point of the show) was how much library footage the BBC have of City, Maine Road and the Fans ?
I noticed and liked that but thought it would have been crass to comment: they had some wonderful archive footage. I wondered if some of it was the stuff that @Gary James had been showing.

Once again it confirms what is going on at rag media Salford.

I remember a regular series of articles about City on the Nationwide programme in the late 1970s. I think it was mainly about Colin Bell returning from injury. He was running around the streets in addidas football trainers. Maybe the footage is from that?

We had a recurring feature on BBC Nationwide (the One Show of its day) called Saturday’s Heroes. Still got the book which was the source of the infamous staff line-up picture, the one with the team shoved to the back and Swales and his cronies front and centre
