Erling Haaland

Cant see this happening as we don’t go for this sort of messing about. Would be nice to get the next Haaland anyway. How much more satisfying to stick it up those who would say we’d “bought” it.

I’m kinda where you are on this. If he’s just letting his agent whip up interest even though he has a good idea where he wants to go...that’s cool. My concern is it looks like he’s being whored around by fat boy and is for sale to the highest bidder.....and we always rule ourselves out of these ‘pissing contests’
Who the fuck do they think they are. Let the rest fight over him and do a Diaz, in pep we trust.

If Kane is a back up, he shouldn't be now.

This is journalists with nothing better to do than gawk at the seemingly world’s ‘biggest’ transfer target. Any agent worth his salt is going to make sure he has all of the salient details to advise his client. Understandably, these clubs don’t want to do that virtually given the frequency and amount of data in the sport that has been compromised. Spotting Alfie and the HungryMan in Spain during an international break is just a consequence of that.

Tbh the sorts of money being talked about makes me feel slightly unwell.
We don’t have a track record of signing players for silly money.
I sincerely hope we don’t get involved in a bidding war if that’s what his agent is trying to agitate for.

Keep Aguero might be a fucking good idea.
The fact we are letting him go makes me very suspicious his wages are going to a replacement we have already secured.
The easy choice would be to extend his contract and letting him go means he’s either physically finished and/or we already have a better successor lined up.
I trust our management to know what they’re doing...they’ve not let us down yet.

I would rather lose with Aguero than win with another. I may be on my own. However that's my feelings at the moment.

There's no way he's coming to City, we don't conduct business so overtly, think we will leave other clubs to bark, bite and really overspend on him. Far too much baggage, we have to trust the Board and Pep, we'll have a target and back ups just as in the past. Grealish joining Bernie, Gabby, FFS, Razz, Phil, KDB, as the attacking options, false 9 as now but with Grealish adding something different, exciting.

Going to post the same thing that I posted in the other thread:

One thing a friend has pointed to out to me, and I think it’s relevant to this coming transfer window. PSG’s transfer record before signing Mbappe and Neymar is pretty much comparable to ours. In fact, their third biggest transfer ever after those two is the same as our record. They made “the leap” for a generational talent (Mbappe) and then for the superstar (Neymar). This feels exactly what’s going to happen to us, and what people who are weary of big signings for us “because it’s not our M.O.” should understand— it’s about when an opportunity presents itself
