does he not look stupid though with the whole we can’t afford it comment if the club then spend £100m on a striker? No issue with saying we might not get one but mentioning we couldn’t afford it will seem foolish if/when the club record spend on one?

I’m not in the same game as those two, never mind the same league - they have a finger on the pulse that I am no where near.

Mine is just an optimists view, and a clear understanding of the owners and how professional they are with everything they do.

People are so desperate for us to sign someone they come up with stuff like, 'posturing', 'mind games', etc.

Maybe Pep is just telling the truth and we've made a call to wait until next summer when prices are more acceptable?

Maybe we've learnt our lesson with Sancho and we're more inclined to keep Delap happy.
