Moronic postIf all the numbers keep going as they are he’s in danger of being Neil who?
If they‘d furloughed SAGE and the MPs salaries, there would be a very different policy being followed........
I’m suggesting that not working for a year is very different to getting your full salary for a year. That isn’t to say that the scientists are necessarily acting out of self interest but there in all history I cannot recall a single instance of following the ‘precautionary principle’ based on the worst case scenario, at all times. Are you suggesting that the scientists are only putting forward this viewpoint because they are not impacted by the decisions?
You do realise that most of those on SAGE work in Higher Education, a sector that is most likely losing an awful lot of money from accommodation, substantial fall in fees from international students etc.. Do you know that their families are not suffering economically and emotionally from lockdown?
You think scientists base their advice on what you consider to be the perceived impact on them? That's an odd take with absolutely no rational basis.
I’d forgotten why I’d had 3 months off this ‘discussion forum’ and you’ve just reminded me.Moronic post
Laid off for 3 months..not seen the other 2 yetI thought Beth Rigby from sky had been sacked?
To your question in bold...So, if vaccination doesn’t stop you catching it, or passing it on, what’s the point of ‘vaccination passports’, other than yet another way to take away more of our civil liberties?
We are sleepwalking into a completely unrecognisable future so the already powerful can ‘keep us safe’, by becoming more powerful (and a lot wealthier).
The only possible useful thing about vaccination passports is they might just wake some people up to the dangers of living in a ‘show us your health papers’ society.
The total collapse of ‘proper’ work and a move towards a materialistic, social media driven, selfish society has left us open to being divided on everything and not to seek out an alternative view, but to attack anyone we perceive as having a different point of view. To snoop on our neighbours, to report people for seeing their mum and now, willing to accept any small crumb offered in the hope of some sort of ‘new normal‘.
This is no doubt fuelled by the biggest fear induced propaganda drive since Goebbels was alive and well, but it is not healthy and will, along with lost years of life due to lockdowns, be one of the longest lasting legacies of Covid.
She fucking should be, complete arse. Stupid fucking questions as usual.I thought Beth Rigby from sky had been sacked?

You also seem to be suggesting that there is a single science and a single truth, and that’s just not what science is.
How many people will never mix againHow will people who have been vaccinated feel about being around others (e.g. Family members they don't live with) who haven't been vaccinated?
I’ll look at them in a different light as they fail to understand that they’re putting themselves, me and others at greater risk of getting ill or dying or increasing the risk of the virus mutating. It’s their choice not to have it, but it’s my choice to think they’re a ****.How will people who have been vaccinated feel about being around others (e.g. Family members they don't live with) who haven't been vaccinated?
Would you stop non-vaccinated people from visiting you at home?I’ll look at them in a different light as they fail to understand that they’re putting themselves, me and others at greater risk of getting ill or dying or increasing the risk of the virus mutating. Within my family, my Mother has Lupus (an immune system disease) so we are the sort of family who have the flu jab every year, never mind the Covid jab.Would you stop non-vaccinated people from visiting you at home?

Because not everyone will have had the vaccine. The people refusing are doing so at their own choice but are also affecting things like this for everyone else. Also other countries may still be struggling with Covid as they’ve had even greater refusal to have the vaccine, so anyone coming back from abroad will need to quarantine but also may still spread the virus as it survives on surfaces for 28+ days and it could be a new variant. So according to the SAGE report from earlier, they’re suggesting we still need to socially distance at the same time as now next year at a minimum. I really hand on heart don’t understand what is going on at minute. Why is this needed ? What exactly changes next year that won’t be already done this year when we’ve competed our vaccine rollout ? So essentially nothing but long term social restrictions are good enough to keep this at bay ? I really feel like giving up. Seemingly nothing is good enough that doesn’t involve social restrictions. I’m fucking tired of existing like this, it’s just horrible when we’re supposed to start getting really positive about changing developments.
