Coronavirus (2021) thread

Seems to be a bit of a disconnect here. When I go for a piss at half time, it's a struggle to get past the stoners, no chance of a trap due to snow sniffers and there is a good percentage of bevvied up fat gits (I include myself) who have a piss then sling a couple of pints and a pie down in 15 minutes. Yet reading this thread is like a visit to the local Christian health club. I suspect not all of you go to the game????

I take it the airport pub beer garden will be open next week..can any spotters confirm

So according to the SAGE report from earlier, they’re suggesting we still need to socially distance at the same time as now next year at a minimum. I really hand on heart don’t understand what is going on at minute. Why is this needed ? What exactly changes next year that won’t be already done this year when we’ve competed our vaccine rollout ? So essentially nothing but long term social restrictions are good enough to keep this at bay ? I really feel like giving up. Seemingly nothing is good enough that doesn’t involve social restrictions. I’m fucking tired of existing like this, it’s just horrible when we’re supposed to start getting really positive about changing developments.
SAGE are an absolute joke
The government are basically been run by them fuck wits at the moment.
Like being In North Korea, they would have us locked up for 10 years if they could.

defo it’s good , I was and am happy with the lockdown time table unlocking and speed we are going.

however there is a little undercurrent in these conferences recently about ongoing restrictions emphasising the lack of efficacy with the jabs ( as opposed to the success) the need for restrictions, i think they are applying the lube for further lockdowns and restrictions down the line. Obviously I hope I am wrong and as Boris stated 21 June ALL Covid restrictions are lifted and the coming out of lockdown is irreversible.

that would be amazing. However I am not so sure.

I’m pretty confident that we are shortly out of the last national lockdown we will see, I think there will be a little hassle going abroad with some countries wanting tests, places like turkey Greece Spain won’t require tests once their own countries have gone through the vaccine program.

Nationally tests and masks will be voluntary or largely ignored.

I'm genuinely confused by the whole masks / social distancing thing being around for the foreseeable future, surely that then ends the prospects of concerts, festivals and most big events going ahead this year? You can't maintain social distancing at a concert or in a grandstand at a sports event (unless you have massively reduced capacities but that surely goes against the line about all restrictions being lifted on 21st June).

I hope so.

I think you're right. Tbh, i think most of the things we're talking about right now will be forgotten about eventually if cases and deaths stay manageably low. People will be acting fully normally come July if we push ahead with the roadmap. I think the covid vaccine passport thing will prove to be an utter sham, probs barely get used by any bars whatsoever, be ignored and be incredibly delayed even if it comes in...by which point everyone will ignore it. With regards to masks, we'll see them in shops and on public transport, and that's probs it. Regarding testing, who realistically is going to take up the option to voluntarily take 2 tests a week? I'd be surprised if more than a few in every 100 people do. I don't know anyone who would do that. That'll be another thing that is ignored and forgotten about pretty quickly. I reckon they ordered loads and are now desperately trying to use them.

Add to this the likelihood that the government will be under loads of pressure constantly, and they'll probably go back on loads of things and quietly sweep the under the rug too. Still feeling pretty confident about everything personally.

But to ask an obvious question why if someone has been jabbed twice and we were told weeks ago "ok you will be fine your done".
Why now are they changing the goalposts and saying no if you go abroad you will need 2 or 3 tests. I don't understand it. The vaccine was meant to mean freedom, it clearly isn't?
Its this shifting changing policy that fucks people off.

I moved away and only get to 3/4 games a season now and because I smoke much less I find a crowd way too intense when stoned now and it can send me into a panic. If you were in the 117 toilets you must definitely have seen me!
Sorry to hear that. Bad news panic attacks from experience.
Father Ruben said sing three "this is how it feels to be City" and one "Blue Moon" and you are forgiven :-)

Isn’t that where covid safety certificates or whatever they are calling them come in to play? If everyone has had a negative test then you don’t need to social distance. They have allowed all major festivals to sell out their tickets this year so pretty sure that’s the plan.

Well abroad we don’t have much control, it’s one of the dafter questions journo’s ask. Who knows what France will do or Australia and it’s none of our business. However I can’t see certain countries fucking their own tourism industry when Brits and their own country have had the jabs.

In terms of this country I’m hoping this slightly negative approach is just to get people to play it safe(a lot won’t but some will)as we are close to getting the adult pop vaccinated. We can’t and won’t continue as we are.

Apologies folks, I’ve missed a couple of days of this chat and usually follow this religiously.
Just had a WhatsApp message from a relative (fell down a conspiracy but job rabbit hole) suggesting I’d better be quick getting the jab as AZ will soon be stopped.
I’ve lost my patience so many fucking times (started with 5G and ended up with US soul stars eating babies).

All a circle jerk waiting to happen with this lot...

Good point that, surely having 20k at the cup final is taking a hell of a risk of creating a spreader event. Bet SAGE aren't happy with it going ahead.

The reports today on the latest Sage Modelling leave me aghast. I'm all for science but this is a joke. 90% vaccine acceptance with a top up in the autumn for new varriants along with testing for large events and border controls will be sufficient. Without a new varriant the predictions just won't happen.
Perhaps they see their importance diminishing and this is to try and keep it alive.

Sorry should have posted this earlier for those that might not have found what I was talking about earlier so they can see what’s been said. Again paints a very depressing picture that seems to have no end as far as I’m concerned.
