Dortmund (H) - CL QF | Post-Match Thread

Was thrilled to see Foden not celebrate after the goal

He recognizes that the job is not done and we still have another game away.

Overall, thought we were poor today, and we were able to sneak a result, This has to be Ruben's worst game in a city shirt, Rodri looked very off today, I remember seeing a moment when he had to ball and instead of turning and starting a counter, he got pushed around and played it back.

I think this enforced lock down has left one or two needing anti-depressants.

Focus on the positives. "PMA" Positive Mental Attitude.

* We just won the first leg of a champions League Quatre Final 2-1.
* We did it whilst not playing as well as we have recently.
* Even so we still should have scored 3,4, goals.
* We will not play that bad again.
* They have to score,

I can't understand this no forward lark. Your goals then need to be so precise. The system rules out so many other ways of scoring. We have used it successfully but that was because we had injuries to forward player. Jesus or a fit Aguero up front from the start of games for me every time. When Dortmund seen that team sheet with no recognised central forward they must of been happy about that.

We have played well without a recognised forward. Who do we drop is the question.

Quite impressed by Dortmund this evening. Bellingham was great -
Makes you wonder how he’s slipped under the radar of all the premier league clubs
I don't think he did. Dortmund offered him first team football and had Sancho to use as an example of what could be achieved. The Prem teams who were interested in him could not offer the same. Fair play to him (and Snacho) for backing themselves to succeed.
Dortmund will pick up more youngsters on the strength of the success of those two plus Haaland.

Even worse he held the wrong part of his body that has been hit !!! To be fair I have also seen Jesus do the same thing.
People often put their hands over their face when they're in pain (physical or emotional) - I don't remember him making any other motions suggesting he'd been hit in the face.

Re BT. I really don't think it's anywhere near as bad as people make out.

The likes of Tyler and Carragher are loads worse on Sky. I think Hargreaves, Crouch, Lescott and even frigging Ferdinand are decent and impartial mainly.
Her indoors wasn't really watching the game but she said " bloody hell how happy do they sound now Dortmund have scored"
Darke and Jenas want fucking off.. They are absolutely a pair of twats..
Jenas was almost crying when ref gave us the penalty.. That's not a pen.. It cant be.. If it was the dippers or the rags he would be saying it was a nailed on pen.

Good win, disappointed with the goal but it was a lovely move for them. On another night we'd have had 4. That's what happens in the latter rounds of this competition, we can't steamroller every team in every game, football doesn't work like that. Dortmund's league form isn't tremendous but how many teams over the years have won this competition or got to the final with shite domestic campaigns?? Very confident we'll get a couple over there and progress.

make no mistake about it, that was a poor, pretty timid performance from our lads tonight. midfield was no where to really be seen except from de bruyne and phil. both were outstanding. Gundogan, and rodri were slow, sloppy and all over the place for most of the game. Rodri gave the ball away far too many times. Dias wasn't his assertive and rock solid self and i feel that anxiety and nervousness echoed its way through the team.

Really had hoped to keep a clean sheet tonight, but you cant say dortmund didnt deserve at least a goal.

This was just an odd performance, but at least we're taking a win to germany.
If we get the opening goal in Germany I would feel a lot better about this scoreline.

Dont think we could have complained if we had drawn but kept going and got a great win. 2nd leg keep it tight early on grab a goal and the pressure is all on them
