As you mentioned, I think the main problem is a midfield three of Rodri, Gundo, KdB inviting pressure on the back 4 because it's slightly unbalanced and defensively it lacks coverage against faster midfielders (Rodri is not Ferna, while KdB and Gundo are both not afraid to go deep into opposition territory to press, but they might be bypassed and won't be able to track back if caught in a foot race). I'd prefer KdB playing false 9 and Bernardo dropping to midfield to get more stability. In that way KdB can also get in better position to shoot. Otherwise the two full backs need to provide strong support for Rodri, but that's also complex as they could be caught out of position. Let's see what Pep come up with for Wednesday.
 
I think it'll be 442 double false 9 again.

I might be crazy, but I think I'd swap Bernardo for Ferran in the attack.

In the last game we saw KdB getting alot of service to Foden, but Bernardo, who was pressing alot, isn't really fast enough to get into good attacking positions from KdB, and Ferran's finishing currently seems to be better.

Giving him another quicker, deadlier finisher as an option would suit us better. Same for Mahrez (assisting Ferran), Mahrez and Ferran could also easily swap position pretty naturally.

So I'd play Foden---Ferran---KdB---Mahrez up top.

I think Pep will probably give Bernardo the nod again, and likely doesn't trust Ferran, but I recall some games seeing Ferran and KdB together up top in the earlier champions league games, and they looked pretty good.

Are you saying he was a shit referee because he disallowed a goal for Dortmund? Foot up is penalised every day of the week in Europe. I would be happy for him to ref the return leg. We are never happy are we?
 
Dortmund played 9 of the 11 players that played against us this weekend

Reyna and Delaney came in for Knauff and Can

Apparently Hummels went off at HT with cramps and Reus came off limping in the 2nd half

Appparantly Hummels was just cramps, but hopefully Reus was missing, he was the best of their front 3 (even with goal aside)....he'd be a big miss for them

Bernardo looks out on his feet in the last few weeks especially the last two games. I can't see Fernandinho starting but I'd like to see him in midfield in a double pivot with Rodri. Dortmund getting through our midfield with one pass was ridiculous on Tuesday night.

Going to be one **** of a nervous night!!
 
There are only two selection decisions really:

- Zinchenko or Cancelo (please be Zinchenko)
- Bernardo or Jesus (I’m torn. Maybe ever so slightly leaning towards Jesus, but that could change)

The other 9 pick themselves.

I’d start with Zin, and Jesus if we want to score, but Bernardo if we want to prioritise keeping possession. Both of them have high energy and pressing levels.
