I came across this website with player wages across many sports:
According to them mcfc weekly salaries £k are approximately as follows:

KDB 350, Sterling 300, Sergio 230, Ferny & Bernardo 150, Gundo 140, Rodri 121, Mahrez & Laporte 120, Dias 115, Walker 110, Stones 100, Ake 92, Jesus & Mendy 90, Cancelo 80, Ederson 65, Torres & Steffan 46, Sandler 38, Carson 25, Zinc 20, Garcia 14, Foden 12

The highest earners at some other PL clubs:
Liverpool are Salah and Thiago at 200, VVD and Fermino at 180.

At United De Gea is 375, Pogba 290, Martial 250, Cavani 210, Rashford 200.

Chelsea's are Chilwell 190, Werner 170, Pulisic 159, Kepa 150, Azpilicueta 145, Kante 144.

Spur's are Bale 600, Kane & Ndombele 200, Son 140
If these figures are true, the problem City have is the disparity between Sterling's wages and the rest of the team. At the moment, in my opinion, he isn't in the first team and he may not be next season. So how do City justify giving him a new contract, which will surely include a pay rise, when the players who are currently ahead of him in the team earn 180k and 288k less than him? Surely those contracts need to be addressed first?

I think he may still have a big say in the league and cups the rest of this season
Let’s hope he does. Just like Stones coming in and playing well, there’s not many better feelings than seeing someone turn it around, you feel the extreme joy they’d feel in it, almost as much as they do.

Agreed if those figures are correct Sterling @ £300k/wk is on 25 times as much as Foden on £12k/wk with Sterling apparently looking to renegotiate and increase his wage!

It's unfair to Foden and others to have such a huge disparity in wages, when the lesser paid players are clearly outperforming Sterling.

Player swap for kane, i’d take that in a heartbeat, doubt spurs would be interested unfortunately, we’ve players who can play sterlings position, we’ve nobody to get the 30+ goals a season kane would get for us

Let's pose a hypothetical (but maybe not that hypothetical) question. There's a meeting in the boardroom with Soriano, Begiristain, Guardiola, De Vries, Berrada, the CFG and City finance guys and they're planning out the summer transfer activity.

Txiki says "We've got a deal for Haaland pretty well hammered out but I need to know if we can afford it and meet FFP" The Finance guys say "Losing Aguero helps but it's not enough so we'd have to sell Sterling to be sure. He's only on the books at a nominal value so a fee over £65-70m will do it easily, which we believe we should easily be able to get."

Do they say "Nah, we'll keep Sterling and offer him more as he might come good again next season even though he hasn't really been on great form the last 2 seasons"? Or do they say "We're getting a proven top-class goal-scorer who fills Aguero's position and who we'll hopefully keep for 10 seasons as well. Let's do it"?

They are not ever going to sell Raheem unless he absolutely pushes for it and he loves it here. He's English, in his prime and is simply in a bad bit of form, wasn't long ago he was winning penalties and scoring at Anfield.

He'll be back to his best soon. He always bounces back. It wasn't long ago half of this forum wanted Bernardo gone.

Keep hearing these statements of he'll be back to his best soon etc, but not when they think this might be.

I think all would agree that what he has previously done and what he is offering now are poles apart, but it hasn't been just for a few weeks, has it, this is an unusually long spell of mediocrity from him.

Pep has afforded him, probably more game time than any other player as a platform to regain his form, and has rightly now, started to bench him.

So, gen question. How much time is long enough to determine whether it is something more than simply a loss of form?

It was mooted yesterday I think, that he perhaps needed the likes of Merlin and others to get the best out of him. If true, that is fine, but lower your expectations to your value to the club if you need others to make you tick, not ask to be paid similarly to those.

Bollocks. Quite a few were wondering if Bernardo would turn it round and one or two floated the idea of a transfer. I doubt you’ll find many who wanted him gone, let alone “half the forum”. He’s one of our most popular players.

Some people should take their blinkers off when reading threads and before posting drivel.

He'll get both back next season, why would he leave, and we are highly unlikely to want to sell anyway,we'd rather extend his contract so it's all a bit pointless, discussing it.
You have done what many others have in making a statement of confidence that he will be back, but we don't know that.
It's being discussed, rightly imo, that he has had so much opportunity to right the ship but hasn't. So how long do the club wait?

Why wouldn't he be back, it's form it happens. Besides I don't think he's suited to the false 9 system we've used the majority of this season. Next season we'll replace Aguero with a centre forwatd and like with Aguero the system will suit him better. The club wait as long as they see fit and as they are talking to him about a new contract they obviously still see fit.
