I put my bet on the Rags to mitigate the tiny risk this goes wrong. Worse case is I get £10k compensation. I have every confidence that I won’t be getting it.
Lol, their odds are getting shorter and shorter because City fans are putting money on looking for insurance. The shortening odds are then freaking City fans out. There is a City/United supporters food bank that the money would be better going to, but I'll let everyone do their own thing.

It's decades of that very glum existence that has created that mentality lol.

I remember in 2012 when the rags went 8 points clear with only 6 games to go. They were all over social media gloating and mocking us, celebrating winning the title. I answered a few of them by saying they better pray they don't blow it now as they'll never live it down. Absolutely zero chance of that was the reply. We all know what happened next

Win their game in hand and the rags are in exactly the same position. 8 points behind with 6 games to go. They are considered to have no chance, not against a highly successful squad motivated by the best manager in world football, exactly as it was for us facing Ferguson's United back then. The way it is panning out is spookily similar, that's why those of us with a nervous disposition and a bit superstitious worry.
I think that run-in has spooked City fans more than United. The 8 points included a six pointer!

Not ‘exactly the same position?’

we still had to play them so as long as we beat them - which we obviously did(thanks Vinnie!’it would then be 5 points with 5 to play

they do not have that advantage !

we have the better goal difference!
In 2012 they didn’t!
In 2012 they we a better team and we was in a title chase with the best two teams in the country competing with each other

this season they are not at our level

it’s done

even Bobby Ewing could not come back from this one !

Am I the only blue who this ‘betting on Utd to win money would soften the blow ?’

I would not want to win one penny if it meant they had to win a football match !

I would even rather see us relagated than have to rely on them bast*rds to see us safe by winning their game

maybe it’s just me ?

but winning money due to their success is just not right !

Not to mention that our final six games were: West Brom, Norwich, Wolves, United, Newcastle, QPR. Newcastle had a decent season that year, but everyone else was either mid-table or relegation fodder, and ultimately it came down to that head to head where Ferguson bottled his team selection. Theirs is Leeds, Liverpool, Villa, Leicester, Fulham and Wolves. Two of their biggest rivals, two in the top six, no head to head. It's night and day.

And If Leicester win it, double whammy! ;)
I considered hedging that risk but didn’t see it as likely. That won’t happen now. It’s 99% certain to be us and 1% possible it’s the Rags. At 200-1 it seemed good value. It’s not a 1 in 200 year event...

Blood money mate, tainted.

I would be much more happy if we can beat Villa and Palace away. Chelsea at home is no given, The barcodes away should be ok, Brighton away is tough but winnable and Everton at home should be ok. If we were not going for 4 trophies I would be a lot more relaxed about the league.

I can't agree with that, especially as I have lumped on the Rags, £50 on Leicester, and just slightly less on West Ham and Chelsea. I tried to get some on Spurs but he refused to take my money and called me a simpleton. I was upset, upset i tell you. He wanted to know why I was wasting my money and asked if I wet the bed. These bookies are so rude.

If we were in their position now, we wouldn’t be saying it’s all over. Not a chance would we.

Not til it’s done is it done. Hubris and karma are two sides of the same coin.

I'm not brazen about it, and won't go calling it done or anything like that. We are on course, that is enough for me.

Honestly though, you are looking for the poetry in it if you are trying to compare the two, they really are quite different scenarios.

Lets just get a couple more wins in, by then the picture will be clearer.

You'd rather City got relegated than United won a game of football?

So, in other words, you hate united more than you love City?
