Hot tubs

Has anyone any idea of the running costs of a hot tub? I am looking at buying a holiday lodge, and one of the lodges I am considering has a 7 person hot tub. I'm thinking it might be a novelty for a while, but might prove a costly addition and an unnecessary extra £10k compared to similar lodges without a hot tub.

If you're buying the lodge and thinking of renting it out then expect to put your price up, cover the cost and not be worried about getting people to rent it.
If it's just for you, novelty will wear off.
Costs probably £5-10/week in electricity to keep it warm, depending on size.

About £1 a day but obviously depends on use.
They say this for an average one..... on the other side of the coin if you're renting the lodge out it will not only increase your income, thus paying for itself within a couple of years or so but also extend your rental period well into the winter.
It's a bit of a ball ache cleaning it out after every rental or holiday.

Thanks for the replies. It won't be used as a rental (site doesn't allow it) so it will be for personal and family use. About a grand a year is what it sounds like.

A lot of maintenance involved with one open to guests. My neighbor Air B n B’s his house and he just removed the hot tub as it was such a pain in the arse (he is a lazy fucker mind you)

The cleaning and maintenance isn't the hard part, it's the mental preparation you have to go through if quite a few of your missus' mates are the size of a bus. If I wanted Free Willy in my back garden I'd whack it on the projector for the kids.

No sex pond for me.
