I think it would be a gamble to start with Raheem. He looks shot to pieces at present. I wonder if he is facing some sort of personal crisis like John Stones had. His form has fallen off a cliff, probably because of physical and mental exhaustion (not helped by lockdown). But he has been brilliant for City over the last couple of years and deserves support from the fans.
However I trust Pep to make the right decision on Saturday. He is close to him in training and knows much more than we do. If he starts and gets an early goal for us it would be huge for the rest of the season. It is not an easy call for Pep.

good post

I take it you haven't been paying attention to the last few years or so.

Muric played in the Third, Fourth, QF and SF of the League Cup in 2018-19 and was dropped for the final.

Don't give me nonsense about him being a kid either. He was the cup goalkeeper and was dropped for the final.

I held my hands up already and admitted I'd forgotten about that.

And there is a difference. Muric, having had no senior football and called back from his first loan due to Bravo's injury had spent the full season with pep and decided he wasn't ready for it. Subsequently he went on loan to forest and was dropped from their first team after about five games.

Steffan had a successful run as Dusseldorf's senior keeper and has looked confident whenever he's played for us.

One was an emergency option due to our backup/cup keeper's injury, one is our chosen backup/cup keeper.

I think this is how we will lineup..Maybe zinny for mendy..But the rest i feel like this will be it..

When you are back up to Ederson you will always leave after a year or two, thats the shelf life as you are not going to replace him.

He's paid to do a job and if he gets demotivated then we bring someone else in to replace him for another year or two. We are Manchester City, we will always attract a good back up.

A final is at stake against potential Champions League final opponents, thats the quality of the game. We need our number 1 otherwise what is the point in turning up?
Sorry, but would disagree. If you are going to let your back up play and then say, sorry mate, but it's semi final, you can stand down, then you will it recruit a decent back up

He'll get that support from 99% of fans when they return to stadium.

Definitely a tough call for Saturday,we could do with him starting.

We seem to have this weird discussion about back-up keepers every season.

If we have agreed with him in advance that he plays all ties in the domestic cups, then of course we stick to that. And I'd be absolutely stunned if we haven't agreed that with him, because that's the only way you're going to get a decent number 2.

The decision will have been made at the beginning of the season and that's that. Any manager/D of F who went against his original word is a moron, and neither Pep nor Txiki are.

I hope he doesn’t rest anyone. Try get the job done, and bring players off later in the game.

Id happily sit through a few more Leeds type losses in the league, as points tallies mean very little at this point and rest some players then.
How many losses to do want before the rags catch us. Bloody daft comment but you are entitled to your opinion

That’s all well and good but if that Trafford kid ever becomes our reserve keeper we should insist he changes his name as part of any agreement

The good thing about this game is Chelsea are in the same position as us fixtures wise, in fact their league game next week is Tuesday where as ours is Wednesday.

No problem at all in starting Raz for me, if it's not working take him off but starting a big game could be a boost he needs.

I don’t think that Muric was ever designated as the Cup goalkeeper. That was Bravo who was injured. Muric came in for some matches but Ederson came on for the final

City lost the FA cup final to Wigan after departing from the Cup goalkeeper strategy. Pantilimon with his height would have easily stopped their goal.

Cannot see Mahrez playing as he was ”shot“ last night when he came off .
That suggests Sterling or Torres comes in ....Chelsea will likely be 3 at the back.

Your the first person that has suggested Chelsea will rotate and I agree. They are desperate to get top four spot and like us have a chumps semi. Should they fail to get past Madrid their back up plan has to be chumps qualification with a number of teams fighting for that 3rd or 4th berth. City to win 2 v 1

i think they will yes, first cause most top teams dont give a damn about national cups, second because as you said, they are all in cl qualification

Mahrez had a full rest vs leeds so he might play imo
